Every since I saw Eleanor on Gone in 60 seconds, I have always been awed at the 1967 Ford Shelby. I love musclecars and I've got a camaro, but if I had the money to get a ford mustang, I'd take this one all day over the Saleen S7. That car sounded hot and loved that whistle!!!
@benjy468 the Mustang (car) wasn't named after something in a movie nor was it named after the breed of horse (such as the one featured in Hidalgo, if I spelled that right). the Ford Mustang was named by the exec stylist at ford after the North American (now owned by Boeing) P51 Mustang fight plane flown by the US Army Airforce in WWII which is also my favorite air plane. and to those wondering I saw a comment on the 136th page (was wanting to see how far back it went :P) and had to respond.
I have listened to a lot of cars and i have never, EVER heard such a sweet noise come from an engine!!!! without doubt, in my eyes, the most desirable car on earth (followed by the ac cobra ;-)
I had a 69 mustang as a kid growing up. I did all the engine work myself, well except getting it bored and the heads milled. I ate Camaros and Firebirds for lunch and GTO' s for dessert. Love the Fords. Your 67 Stang looks awesome!! I was walking my dog the other day and I often criticize people for parking their cars in the driveway instead of the garage. Wondering what could possibly be in your garage worth more than your car. Then a neighbor moved his car and backed out his 67 Shelby.

I learned very early on about engines, the value of a dollar, and how to build things. I like the older Triumph's & BSA's. A friend here in Texas loves rebuilding them.
im more of a tuner since i like japanesse cars but this old american cars are nostalgic and beautifull, every car lover should admit that we will never get the same quality now days as we used to get back then and this car is proof of that.
theres one sound thats second to the sound of a car like that on the dyno...its a sound that brings a smile.. its the sound of the dyno winding down from a high pitch to a dead stop. when you hear that sound you know you got some big balls under the bonnet

I built this car. Purchased the motor from Keith Craft directly. 815fwhp (from the dyno sheets provided from Keith Craft), but I think they are a little inflated. Chassis dyno was 575rwhp on a 90 degree day. done some more tuning since then. Probably have it up to around 625rwhp.

Overkill is the song (I know some do not like it, but Overkill is the only song that represent this car). I took a modified Z06 on the freeway from 60mph to >>>>..... he was 7 car lengths back at 160 mph.. ha ha Enjoy!!
Beautiful vid. Reminds me of my dad's old 427 racing modified pony. Two 4 barrel carbs are almost as good as fuel injection. That engine has so much power it almost feels like it's pulling itself apart when you goose it.
Sanderson sold out to Unique Performance. They were selling the Super Snake @ $215k. Sold Out. I have used every single part from them to build my own, only to better and tighter specs. With A larger Supercharger. And GPS, and backup camera, and electric windows, power door lock , alarm, trunk release, better cooling, etc etc
on 92 or 93 octane is available at all gas stations. Higher octane price goes trough the roof, and is harder to obtain, but is necessary when increasing HP through a supercharger or Turbo charger when you REALLY increase the BOOST pressure. I am only running 10 lbs boost. Keeping it safe so I don't have to replace any blown up engine parts.
The authorized Shelby builders (Unique Performance) are offering 725 flywheel hp, which translate to 580 rear wheel hp. That is if everything is correct. I am going back to the dyno shop shortly since I have it tuned and broken in. We will see... And thanks!
Eleanors big sister, the Super Snake, built by Unique Performance/Carroll Shelby WAS supercharged. Only they used a weaker S trim supercharger & I used a T Trim.
Supersnake Eleanors are very rare. This is one that was built with all Carroll Shelby "Authorized" parts from Unique Performance (authorized builder of the Eleanors' for Shelby). One of only 17 built. BTW, "Super Snake" designates a 427FE big block. It has been bored and stroked to 482ci.

Its a 1967 Shelby GT500E with a crate motor from an 05 or 06 Super Snake. I think its the modern version of the classic 302CID which was in the 68' model.

The 427FE is rare, but is brand new. Shelby started producing these aluminum 427FE's in 2000, of which I purchased one.
