  • In this video I demonstrate the Shark Stratos upright on carpet, hard floor and picking up pet hair.

    Details below from Shark’s website:
Introducing a revolutionary upright vacuum from the Shark Stratos collection.
    Shark’s best ever hair pick-up.
Tired of removing tangled hair from your brush-roll? Anti Hair Wrap Plus removes long, short and pet hair from the brush-roll as you clean, so you don't have to. The enhanced brush-roll design delivers Shark's best ever hair pick-up.
Anti-Odour Technology protects against bad odours inside the vacuum for a fresher-smelling home
A unique cartridge system guards against dust cup odours commonly caused by hair, dust and dander. Simply insert the Anti-Odour Technology dial into the floorhead and rotate to select an odour intensity setting.
    Perfect for all floor types
Our signature DuoClean floorhead glides from carpets to hard floors with two motorised brush-rolls working together in one floorhead - the Anti Hair Wrap Plus brush-roll cleans deep into carpets, drawing out embedded dirt and picking up hair, while a soft front brush-roll draws in debris and lifts stuck-on dust from hard floors.
With simple controls on the handle, easily switch between 3 floor settings to clean hard floors, low pile carpets and thick pile carpets or area rugs.
Signature LED headlights in the floorhead help to illuminate hidden dust. Enjoy an extra-long cleaning reach of up to 10.06m thanks to the stretch hose and long 8m power cord.
Easily clean stairs and under furniture
Is cleaning stairs an uphill struggle? Go portable with Powered Lift-Away.
Transform this powerful upright into a portable vacuum cleaner at the touch of a button. Simply lift the main unit away from the wand to clean under furniture - the brush-rolls continue rotating and drawing in dirt, even in portable mode.
Detach the floorhead to comfortably clean stairs, soft furnishings, up high and more with 2 included attachments - a Crevice Tool and Multi-Surface Tool.
    Anti-Allergen Complete Seal
Anti-Allergen Complete Seal captures and traps 99.9% of dust and allergens inside the vacuum, not releasing them back into the air you breathe*. Shark’s high efficiency filters are contained within a completely sealed unit, offering extra reassurance for allergy sufferers and homes with pets.
We’re confident you’ll love your new Shark vacuum cleaner, offering a free 5-year guarantee for your peace of mind.

@@huskyvacs Normal screws? Not sure what it's like where you are, but in Europe/the UK they're held together with either phillips or torx screws, meaning easy reparability. If unreparability is the norm for where you are then I fear for the future of the vacuum industry there.

I have one of these which I got at a great price on a Black Friday deal. I use it weekly for a deeper clean, using another make cordless the rest of the time. It always leaves the carpets looking great and I find it easy to switch to lift off for stairs and upholstery. I vacuum the filter after every use with my handheld and the machine works perfectly ever time. With the easy life mine has, I’m sure it will last the test of time. Has a 5 year warranty anyway.

I own 4 shark vacuums, shark corded upright (pz1000uk) and shark corded upright pet (nz801ukt). Also I have 2 shark cordlesses basically identical but one doesn’t have the flexology wand. I’ve been through dysons, Henry’s, vax, panasonic, samsung, hoover. Nothing has come close to the versatility of a shark, liftaway feature is great, so is the anti wrap, and duo clean is great too. Sharks seem to pick up better then my previous vacuums, so therefore I love shark

My shark duo clean corded stick is great on hard floors i love it for that its ok on carpet, my filter maintenance consists of monthly wash and every time i use it i vacuum the filter with the hose on my sebo upright. My experience is with most bagless cleaners they need constant filter maintenance which is a total bore, when the sebo is full whip the bag out and a new one in and in seconds the cleaner is ready to go.

The only issue I have with Sharks is no matter how clean you keep the filters, how much you wash all the suction channels - somewhere - somehow - after exactly 3-5 months time the suction drops off a cliff and the vacuum no longer performs as it did when new. It's like they have some kind of valve that breaks off somewhere, I can't figure it out.

Shark really needs to improve their cyclonic system. While for being a single cyclone, it does preform well, the fact the filters get dirty quickly is a concern for me. About the non-removable brushroll; I firmly believe that tactic was created by manufactures strictly for cooperate greed and creating more e-waste. They figure by the time the brush wears out or need replacing, the vacuum will have died, or the user will notice it's not picking up anymore, trash it, and buy another. I'm honestly surprised nobody has created a vacuum that has filter that cannot be washed or replaced. Once the filter clogs, you throw the vacuum away and buy a new one.

Vacuum cleaners should last at least 10 years in a home. The new ‘disposable’ machines are absolutely horrible. Shark, dyson, Bissel and the other manufacturers should be ashamed of themselves. Vacuum cleaners should be designed to last as long as possible. Shark vacuums in particular are designed to be used for a few years and then be replaced by the latest machine.

It's an ugly beast as well as being noisy. The sad dart is bagged cleaners are not as environmentally friendly as bagless cleaners, all that extra mass in landfills opposed to washable filters. Their bigger machines always look a bit flimsy compared to competitors like Samsung, Dyson and Meile. The anti odour system is a gimmick and can be achieved by adding a drop or 2 of essential oils or a spray of Zaflora to the filters. The waste canister is very badly designed for the central cyclone shroud to be able to get so badly clogged so quickly. It us also very deceptive as it looks loke it will hold a lot of debris but the usable bin is quite slim and small.
