What Causes Fruit Split?

In this video I explain the most common reason that fruit split on the tree. It all comes back to irregular watering. Sometimes this is the fault of the grower, but usually it is a result of heavy rainfall during the later stages of fruit growth.

Splitting can occur in some root vegetables too for the same reason , sweet potatoes for example .

Lack of sufficient calcium will cause fruit to split with excess water at least in Florida
