Wrestling has always been a theatre until Vince decided it wasnt anymore and just wanted to entertain children to milk their parents pockets. Now a whole generation of wrestling fans who never saw the theatrical side of wrestling can look to AEW and the Indies for exactly what they never knew was missing.
I mean pro wrestling is essentially live theater. The ring is the stage, you got characters and stories, choreographed maneuvers and before the virus outbreak a live crowd. It's a incredibly athletic form of theater but theater nonetheless.

It looked extremely scripted to me. Although, admittedly I've never been a fan of Matt Hardy's "acting", especially, or a fan of Matt Hardy in general, there have been points where his character was so bad it was good, and times where the character boardered satire, in a good way, but this is not one of those times. He's just being weird for the sake of being weird and it doesnt really make much sense. Is he a vampire? What's with the clashing of the teeth and spreading of the arms? Has Hardy learned to fly in his time away from wrestling? I get what AEW are going for, here. i.e: "Hardy is crazy and therefore should be feared, but is he really that crazy? He might actually have superpowers." Much better ways to achieve this narrative than having Hardy adopt an atrocious British accent.
