I headed out to our Tiny A Frame cabin with my dog Ellie to brave one of the biggest winter snowstorms of the year. We enjoy the snow, make some good food, do some wood cutting and take in the beauty of nature.

Yes it is heartbreaking losing our precious pups so sorry for your loss I lost my pup Sept 2023 I too cry for my beautiful koa he was my little hiking companion he loved the outdoors we were so connected he was my little soulmate seeing Jack /Ellie bring back so many memories we would sit together just as Jack and Ellie enjoying the beauty of nature peace be with our babies ❤🌿🦮
I cry over mine everyday and it's been 19 years. People say it gets easier as time passes. It doesn't.

That El Nino. Us here in FL, it's been a very cold winter. For us anyway. Lows in the 40s, highs in the 60s. Our winters aren't usually like that.

Real world question; does the cabin get insect and mold problems.
@@mikemorgan8588 any place that isn’t sealed will allow bugs to enter. As long as moisture isn’t getting in, you shouldn’t have any problems with mold. Build it off the ground and use pressure treated lumber for your joists and subfloor. Paint or stain the exterior. Get it dried-in as soon as possible to keep the interior from getting mold during construction. If mold develops during construction, use a mold killer as soon as you notice it to keep it from spreading.

That Ellie can steal some hearts. So precious! With 85 degrees here in Florida it’s hard to imagine snow at this time of year but I have to tell you it is so beautiful and makes for such a cozy atmosphere. I so enjoy your winter camping!

Love the time at the A-frame its always so peaceful in the woods. Reminds me of what just outside in the woods behind my house. I was down in the woods last year when the snow left and was warmer. Things have changed over the years and forgot just how much of a hike it was. I just have to go on your video adventures as I'm getting older and walking around my house and driveway is the best I can do. I miss being out in the travel cabin! We’re in a weird season right now where all the forest roads are closed due to mud. Hopefully we can get back out there soon enough once it dries. Until then I’m having to do some hike or bike in sites, and/or the A Frame 👍🏽

In northern Michigan we have been getting a bunch of rain and high winds, but up in the U.P. of Michigan they are supposed to get a foot of snow and high winds today into tomorrow. Blizzard warning in parts of the U.P. You, Riley, Olivia and Ellie stay safe and warm. ❤️❤️

Happy to be able to still share the joys of winter with you. Is it warm enough in there, or too warm? I wonder if a tiny ceiling fans might help push the rising heat down or would it then be too warm?
Can be too warm sometimes for sure! But after a couple years I have the wood stove management down in there 👍🏽
