I love how they never pause the show for a drumline flex, they keep an awesome groove and transition into following segments wonderfully!!

Not a percussionist but what impresses me about the writing here is that I know exactly where they are in the show and what's happening in the brass because the book ties in so well.

i love this style of content. its way better than normal reacts on youtube of just giving your own thought, you gain a lot more from it and actually get something more valuable out of it. definitely would love to see this style of reacts more although i know how it hard it must be to get that kind of time from these people.

We are very gracious of the time we get from them. We have one with Mike McIntosh scheduled to record tomorrow. A few others have agreed to link up.

It’s cool seeing the quad pad in the background. He always writes such cool tenor parts and despite the difficulty level the arounds feel realllly good to play

Mike, Evan, thanks for having Tom on again. Fully agree with what Evan said near the end re: Tom's writing. The past couple of years in particular have shown such personal progress in the way he composes and arranges for this medium - the subtle rhythmic shifts y'all've mentioned in the snare writing (occurs in mallet runs too), understanding when to do vertical moments front to back, leaning into front ensemble as percussion ensemble, and the motivic development and callbacks throughout the performance. The integrity to the original source material in terms of feel, density, and texture translate effortlessly thanks to the overall Bluecoats design team. It's really stunning to hear. Kudos Tom, and kudos to the 23 Bloo Bangers for an outstanding performance of the material.

There are some great writers/arrangers in DCI, but Bloo is so fortunate to have Rarick/Thrower year after year. An incredible team!!!
    Thanks for the interview.

Divisi - when you have two parts for one instrument on one stave
Tutti - the divisi goes back into the normal scoring and all instruments play the same part
