- The Man In The Iron Mask (1998).
This is the song that plays during the masked ball scene when the two kings are switched, and the Queen Mother is re-united with her long lost son. Composed by Nick Glennie-Smith, this period piece reflects the music of the time, and is said to resemble the works and style of Handel. I loved the song ever since i first saw the film in 1998 and have noticed many requests for the song among the CZcams community. Enjoy :) - Hudba
The Composer is Nick Glennie-Smith. He composed it to resemble the sound of George Frideric Handel.
Hard to accept that this is only a piece composed for a movie...should be a timeless masterpiece. Its majestic like Händel-alla hornpipe or mussorgsky-the great gate of kiew
Wow reminds me of the Waltz music composed solely for the film Waterloo both are amazing pieces
Surprisingly the only media it’s on is CZcams. Yet His other work can be found on Spotify and Apple Music.
Im going to play this song EVERY time i walk into a new room.. It make me feel like im a queen :.D !
This is one of the songs that was stuck in my brain as a kid watching this movie that i STILL cant get out of my head xD
Envaild wow I have similar experiences with today's 'music'. I consider it a curse since the music of today sounds more like clanging noise when compared to a majestic piece like this.
@@1fastfoot1 Probably why I love Fallout game series so much. The music. Takes me to a better era.
Same here
I agree to all comments here. Classic music is in every big Hollywood movie in behind when great emotions shows up.
Many people say they dont like classic music...but in the most cases they dont realy listen to it..or they dont search for the right componist/pieces. To be honest; like in other music genre, not every componist have pieces u will like..u have to search for it...and u have to listen to classic piece in a Moment of silence..best thing ist to close the eyes that a piece can tell a story. Lets take Pachelbel-Canon in D...or Bach-Air...hard for me to imagine that people exist who say "not my kind of music". A special thanks to "the Simpsons" without this series i miss alot famous masterpieces and maybe I never find the way to the greatest Feeling of all time."Tschaikovski-ouverure 1812(final) is in the first Seasion to hear...but i have to wait a couple of years till i know Komponist and Name of the piece cause u hear it only 2-3 second while Homer watch tv;) So as i found it i listen over and over to the ending of that piece. Same to the second movement from beethovens 9th Sinfonie or mussorgys-the great great of kiew...thank u simpsons
One of the most beautiful piece that has stuck for long since childhood.. best movie orchestra soundtrack ever!
I agree...i love classic music and i still wondering why this piece isnt only known from the movie. When u like that u also love classic...maybe not all pieces but here some pieces u should listen to:
Pachelbel-Canon in D / Bach-air/ mussorgsky-the great gate of kiew(from "pictures at an exibition" / Beethoven-9th synfonie(the second movement) Tschaikovski-ouverure 1812(final)
Smetana-Moldau/ Händel-alla hornpipe(from watermusik) Mozart-hornkonzert 1-3...la nozze di figaro (ouverture) (nearly all pieces from Mozart are amazing)
Hope u enjoy it and dont forget; listen to classic when u have the time for it...close ur eyes and think about beutiful memories
Absolutely a wonder piece of music. Could be used for the bride's dance at a wedding. One does not hear this type of music very often.
I adore this music, and have seen the film several times, and the actors are brilliant, and this scene is breathtaking !
josparkes1 amen!!
Está música es bella, parece música de los Grandes Maestros. Genial la música y genial la película. Gracias Nick Glenie Smith por esta música tan bella.
This was actually my "first husband and wife dance" jajaja I love it!!!
The soundtracks were absolutely amazing...❤❤❤
When I was up at the Cathedral in Liverpool last a few months back, I had a chance to play on the grand organ there, and this piece was the right piece to play in my opinion !!!
Aaron Parker
What did those present think of your performance?
I think the music that played when the queen mother entered was the most touching part of the movie
this will sound SO stupid.
But this kind of music makes me wish I was at the ball. All dressed up a princess with the hair and everything. *sigh* the longing of a fairytale life, lol :D
But really, tjis music SOUNDS like somthing that could have been from that time. beautiful, just beautiful :D
popze feel the same way! And most likely they played this music then!
princes and princesses ARE real. we just have to be able to see more than meets the eye to recognize them. problem is in our modern world more than ever we have reason to dream and believe. and instead we more quickly than in all the rest of hisory lose those dreams and hopes to villains because through some strange twist of fate evil morals in our modern world have become 'popular.' I cringe at the mention of that very word... 'popular.'
This was composed in the style of Handel, and it sounds like it, too.
Not stupid at all!
This actually isn't like the times of king Louis 14th the music was grand but not banging it had emotion and rhythm try watching the 1977 version or some J.B lully music
Years ago I had someone make me a really long version of this so I could just listen to it on and on and on.
I also search for a long Version but cant find one:(...iam suprised that this piece is only knowing from the movie...its epic like "mussorgsky-the great gate of Kiew" or "händel-alla hornpipe" or Mozart-hornkonzert1-3 ...when u dont know the classic pieces...listen to them...i guess u will like it
I was delighted to find this on You Tube! I love the movie and thought this music was a Baroque or Renaissance piece by Mozart, or Handel! My compliments to Mr Glennie-Smith!
it is actually inspired by Handel, its a rewritten version of Handel: Music for the Royal Fireworks: Suite HWV 351 - 5. Menuet II
One of the best things about one of the best movies!
Now that is some elegant music, it sounds very Royal, perfect.
lmao I'll never forget the day I decided to turn this on, didn't realize my speakers (which were on a shelf at face-level to me) were at max volume, so the video started and this literally played FULL BLAST right in my face
Strangely, that is the way to listen to this song for me: LOUD! I didn't even hear my mum calling :-)
What else can I say to this? Not a single person dislikes this as I listen to it today: One of the very best of soundtracks. Brings the part where the impersonator king says: CONTINUE !
When i first watched this movie, this song got stuck in my head, i just had to download it to my phone, i listen to it all the time 😂😂
Ce muzica super,te face sa meditezi si sa primesti o placere enorma.
Lovely music.
That sting among the harpsichord, flute and strings is one of my favorite parts. The king is starting to see the iron mask among the partygoers. ....Continue.
GOD BLESS THE KING AND THE QUEEN MOTHAA!
This music is fantastic.
曲名がわからず、長らく探していた曲にようやく出逢えました
The Masked Ball、仮面舞踏会ですね
ありがとう🎵🎶💃🕺
I love this piece.. Beautiful , and can't get over listening to it.
This is such a gorgeous piece of music.
Masterpiece, excellent
this... this is most unbeliveble music, so pure... so clean and true wonder i rarely give anything 10 but this sertanly deserves a golden 10. maestro again!
The power of classic music. No big Hollywood movie can produced without it. Its the Moment when emotion reach the highest Level. I mean is there a more emotional piece then Pachelbel-Canon in D...or Bach-Air.
That piece reminds me on händel's alla hornpipe(from watermusic) or mussorgsky' great gate of Kiev....makes u feel better after hearing it
Still listening
Semeeee
Brilliant music from an equally brilliant film, loved the film and this wonderful piece !
Lets all go to a french palace and make a masked ball ladies and gentlemen!
I love classic music.
Música maravilhosa! Uma das mais lindas que já ouvi.
A glorious piece of music
Que elegancia la de Francia.
musique dans le châteaux au puy du fou . très très belle musique .
I love this music, and watched the film so many times and bought the video !
Lol my dad raised me w/ this music & i basically grew up w/ it.
I just watched this movie today & i have to admit, not only is the movie just, brilliant but the music is wonderful too.
Beautiful music makes me want to dance
i love this song
me encanta esta melodia, es muy hermosa
It really sounds like Händel; a good choice of music for the film.
LOVE this! It's my favourite piece from the whole soundtrack. I worked out all the melodies on my keyboard, It's a fun song to play.
Someday when I'm rich (and I WILL be) I'll throw a masked ball at my huge mansion and play this hehe.
11 years ago huh lol man time flies. How's the mansion going? :)
@@ghjake Lol, yeah. I'm a lot closer to it than I was then. Let's just say that...
@@Biozene Good luck brother, and I hope you get everything you want in life.
@@ghjake Thanks! You too
Thats the best on classic music...when u hear to special masterpieces it take u to somewhere else and after hearing u be in a better State of mind cause it can brings up the greatest emotion. When i would have been born in a diffrent time and i was king...i would choice this piece when i walk to my Castle. This or "Mussorgys-great gate of Kiew" or Händel -alla hornpipe;)
the man with the iron mask.
I love baroque music ❤
Someone should make an 8 hour version for sleeping 😴
Call me sad but I'd trade this for a modern day night club any day of the week 👑
i love this soundtrack , been looking for it since age, thanks for uploading it just what i needed.
The music of my wedding in the future
Most beautiful in the world
thanks a lot for uploading this! I was searching this song is so beautiful!!
Our (Believers in Christ) music when we enter into heaven with Christ our saviour🙌🏾❤️🥰
This piece..or mussorgys-the great gate of Kiew...or pachelbel-Canon in d
If the music has that effect, it means that it s a good one. Nick Glennie-Smith certainly did a good work.
My dad actually taught me to waltz to this song. It was soo long ago when I was 6.
A mask! I distinctly saw a mask! 😳 Say what your Majesty?!
Thanks for posting! This is great!
The man in the iron mask ♥️ beautiful 🌷🌷🌷
The only thing I hate about this song is that it only lasts 3:28 minutes.
Heh, I like how this music is really light and fun but because of the, ahem, "certain people" who were wearing iron masks it was creepy at certain intervals.
"I distinctly saw a mask!"
"Well...Your Majesty, this IS a masked ball."
ROFLMAO. Bam!
Thanks for uploading!
I love this movie ❤️ It's a constellation of stars
beautiful...
I really love this theme
Continue.
I love this sound track
Actually, France had the largest middle class in the pre-Industrial era. They had the second largest population of all the European states, the largest economy, and the most well-developed cities. Indeed, the concept of the middle class--the bourgeoise, or walled-city-folk--arose in France. And while it is true that the peasants probably did live in filth, it was relatively less filthy than say, a Russian or Austrian peasant.
Geezz thanks soo much.... 😊😊. Been looking for this for a long while and now I'm relishing it at full blast in my office. I doff my hat for you my good Sir. @Randomnoobi
Just gorgeous.
those were the beautiful ages !!!!!!i would like to be borned then... the most beautiful !!!!!!!!!!
Simplemente perfecta. Gracias
Ohhhh yeah fantastic!
Me encanta la música de esta película 📽 bellísima.
Amazing simphony!
awesome!!!
t is actually inspired by Handel, its a rewritten version of Handel: Music for the Royal Fireworks: Suite HWV 351 - 5. Menuet II
Loved it the first time I heard it also
Una hermosura!!!
Bella, inolvidable, ilustre, elegante Música. Es una real maravilla!!
simplemente una belleza !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great song! Really represents a masquerade ball!! :P
I love it‼️🌷🌹
This definitely has some similarities to Minuet I.II from Handel's "Royal Fireworks Music". As an interesting side note, this music also appears in the Stargate SG-1 episode "Redemption Part 1". It's when Jonas Quinn is watching the weather channel (immediately after the opening credits).
nura78 I think Smith stated somewhere that he was influenced or made this piece in homage to Händel´s.
It's not a bad homage. Certainly better than what I got assigned in my music theory classes :-P
Bien vu :)
still bringing people here cause of that
Amo esta película ♥️😍
Me encanta 😍❤️
Excelente!
the song is really good!
I love it, It sounds like Handel.
I agree...its epic like "alla hornpipe"
