The Unknown TRUTH About Rollback Netcode and Virtua Fighter!

- Many have asked, and few have the answers; why did Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown ship without Rollback Netcode? Today, I attempt to answer this question with a carefully researched video, hopefully providing some insight into why Sega developed and used the new Absorb Netcode.
Fighting game players love rollback like GGPO, but is it really the best option? There may be a better way to play games like Virtua Fighter, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and King of Fighters online! Watch the video and find out.

That was brilliant Luke! Many thanks for taking the time to present this topic regarding the VF Rollback Netcode - you've articulated your points with clarity and in-depth research and made it enjoyable to watch with all the relevant clips used in the video.
I missed out on this frustrating situation since I only just entered the scene of online VF play last year with Ultimate Showdown. Personally, as I explained one time in VFA, I feel very fortunate to be in a situation where I'm positioned without the bias and not complain so much to what once was an ideal system used before it was taken away. I'm settling for the current system and still find enjoyment playing those who are willing to play online via Australia.
I hope there will be a breakthrough in future where a system is implemented legally and practically for business to satisfy both parties who have had a deep history of gameplay with RbNc and those who have not had that experience but are dealing with what's available at the moment.

You forgot to mention that the new VF was free for download. Not only was it free, it was being pushed by many major fgc figures to try it. (Max, JWong, etc) It was free to or download for 3 months so yeah, many people downloaded the game, but then dropped it due to this same net code NOT being rollback.
So trying to use Garou or Samsho's player based numbers isn't an accurate comparison. If you look at the player base for VF after the free 3 months of download you'll see a major decline in players.
Please don't take this as a hate speech, I love VF and wish more people played. But due to the net code NOT being rollback, it's not going to happen.
