Haydn: Symphony No. 84 in in E♭ major "Paris Symphonies" In nomine Domini

This symphony, part of a set of six commissioned by the Concert de la Loge Olympique in 1784, marked a significant departure for Haydn. Composed for the largest orchestra he had worked with at the time, it featured expanded woodwind sections and a robust string ensemble. While the other Paris symphonies predominantly showcased strings, Symphony No. 84 uniquely emphasized the woodwinds. Surprisingly, despite its numerical order, it was one of the final pieces completed in the series, finalized in 1786.
