I don't know why people neglect to talk about Pyramid Plunder for OSRS thieving experience/training. Nearly every single 99 Thieving guide, refuses to mention it. I'd take it any day over pickpocketing/blackjacking, and it was how I personally got to 99 Thieving on OSRS lol. Probably the quest, and item requirements, maybe. Also, there is a technique or trick to it. Only mess with the two highest rooms to your experience level, and kinda open the urns all parallel/in order, and memorize where on the screen the doors open, the urns are etc. Don't move onto another urn, unless you grab the treasure. Even if it takes you several attempts. I very rarely tried to open the sarcophagus tomb, but if I had time after dealing with the urns, I would open the chests in the center. The scarabs will try to mess with you, so bring food, and anti-poisons/antidotes of course. Some Stamina/Energy potions are good too, to keep your run level up. If you see the timer is reaching up to halfway gone, if you're not already in your highest available room for your level, you should be there etc. Also the Scepter is kinda mandatory almost. The magic carpet rides are fine if you're not trying to grind in the desert, or questing, but if you're grinding EXP, and needing to make quick repetitive trips, and don't want to deal with the entrances of Pyramid Plunder trolling, and changing doors lol, and you want to immediately start another Pyramid Plunder event, you will need the Scepter. Other than that, great guide. :)
Hello! Thanks for your comment. I play an ironman as well. The typical strategy used to be looting the chest on the first floor of the minigame, leaving, and then repeating the same motions. As of an update of March this year, the sceptre drop rate has changed depending on which floor you loot a chest or sarcophagus. If you're looking for the quickest route, it would be to loot the chest on each floor of the minigame, while prioritizing the highest level rooms that you can enter. Looting sarcophagi is not recommended due to the long amount of time they take to open. The lower level floors have a much lower drop rate, with the drop rate for the sceptre maxing out at 1/650 from chests and sarcophagi on floor 5 and higher. Also, my apologies for not including the drop rates initially in my guide. My channel is mostly dedicated to keeping things short and simple for players who may have never tried out a piece of content before. Thanks for stopping in, and I hope this helped!
@@BarrysBasics Great guide Barry. I'm looking to do this on my ironman too, but I haven't unlocked staminas and I am reluctant to use my super energies for it. Do you think there'd be a significant hit to the xp/hr?
@@Skironxd It'd still be decent experience/hr. You could also bring graceful to help offset some of the energy used. Just don't forget anti poisons of some sort. It may also benefit you to not loot the chests or sarcophagi so that you don't have a need to wear tankier equipment. Hope this helps. :P
Thanks for the feedback! I’ve actually gotten a couple other comments on other videos similar to this one. I tried increasing my audio levels for this one in the hopes that it would help. If you don’t mind me asking, is it that the audio is too quiet, or that the music is overtaking my narration? Thanks for the feedback either way! I really appreciate it!

As a side tip, it's usually more effective to open the sarcophagus in each room first before opening the chest as you will be interrupted while opening a sarcophagus if you are damaged, but not while opening chests. For example, not everyone may have access to stamina potions if playing an ironman account, etc. That being said, I do list suggested inventory setups to an extent with most of the videos in which it applies. The struggle is real. I did maybe 2-3 hours worth of Pyramid Plunder on my iron on the way to 99 and spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to get the sceptre after that. The worst part is getting a second one for the master clue step. Good luck, buddy. RNG is rough. :(

@@BarrysBasics I got it today! I did the main chest in every room, then sarcophagus+chest in rooms 6,7,8 and I got the sceptre in under 200k xp!
