  • We finished up the electrical work for the detached garage this summer. We’ll take a walkthrough of the garage to show you the layout of switches, lights, garage door, a space heater, and more.

    Josh, GFCI protection in 210.8 A (and B) talks about RECEPTACLES, not outlets (there is a difference). Your hardwired 240V heater does not need GFCI protection as it is not connected through a receptacle. 210.8 F is about outdoor OUTLETS so that is what is driving the requirement for AC condensers to be GFCI protected now.

    No disconnect upon point of entrance?

    • @jonathanfurtado3696
      @jonathanfurtado3696 Před 2 lety

      It is a little weird a subpanel doesn't need a mains disconnect if there is six or less single pool breakers or movement of the hand. But there is also a means of disconnect at the panel that feeds it. So the inspector probably let it slide saves a little money.

  • @Jerryh31
    @Jerryh31 Před 2 lety

    Is there a disconnect for that panel? Wouldn’t that need a main breaker?
