  • The great former Move and Hollies singer, the late Carl Wayne sings the 1960 UK Number one hit by Roy Orbison ‘Only the Lonely’
A lady wrote to the BBC ‘Fix it’ show saying she wanted to be a backing singer, she is the lady in the middle, the other 2 are professional singers Lynda Hayes and Stephanie De Sykes.

Proud to say that Charlie Wayne was a friend. Many a session we did together, and his talent, humour and presence are missed to this day.

Wow he’s really good! But can’t forget every body else that’s backing him up the band and the back up singers. They’re not only great singers but beautiful ladies! Thanks for sharing this with us out here in south Alabama ☮️❤️

Amazing voice Carl Wayne had. A brilliant cover of this Big 'O' classic (although the backing singing a bit tinny).

One wasn't a professional. She was the one it was fixed for (the middle one).
