Thanksgiving is a busy time on the farm, last year at the farmers market we had our best day of the season, so we are expecting big things from the holiday weekend this year as well. We think it will be so busy, that we work hard to pick enough flowers for 2 different farmers market plus 20 more bouquets for our roadside stand. We still haven't had a frost, so our summer flowers are still blooming. Wow, that 2nd market at the apple farm did amazingly well. I wasn't expecting that much in sales. Yea, definitely hit the markets hard with MORE flower bouquets ($40) next year. I live in Kelowna, and I have 600 tulip bulbs still in my basement! 😱. Hopefully this snow melts before the ground freezes. Looks like it should be pretty nice out around Remembrance Day 🌷🌷💐💐. (The ad was great!)

Loved seeing all the bright colors at the orchard bouquet bar. What a great experience for all the local families in the fall. There used to be a tiny old apple orchard around the corner from me at my last cabin, but the owners retired and it was turned back to a normal home. Miss the amazing mom and pop kindness keeping my little person entertained while I picked thru all the apples!

I grow a micro greens for consumption but mostly seedlings for my hydroponics system. Kale, rainbow chard, slow bolt lettuce, bok choy. Basic veggies that most can grow.

I just love buying flowers by the stem! There was this little flowershop in my mother’s neighbourhood in Holland. I can still smell it in memory. I could spend so much time there during my visits back, agonising over a.l the choices.

@@coloradotulips My other favourite is actually nothing to do with gardening at all, but is a lapidary channel, called Black Opals Direct. Justin is a fantastic Opal cutter in Australia, and I love watching him work. He shows the stones that don't work, as well as the ones that do. It can get very exciting waiting to see what will be uncovered, from stones worth hundreds, to many thousands. You start with that piece of rock, and you could end up with a host of colour in your hand. Like waiting for flowers to emerge after the winter 😁
