      There's plenty of trains. It's just everyone prefers to use the express train rather than leave home early and use the more plentiful slower trains.
      Edit: this is also the 2nd to last stop for that particular train so that doesn't help the capacity situation either.

    Me: What a cool driver! He got out, pushed people into the train and then at 3:00 walked BACKWARDS into the cabin. Talk about engineering. In Delhi there is enough space that you can attempt a high jump between the train and the platform.

    池袋ではホームも混んでいるので、のんびり後方の車輛から歩いていると後続電車のお客に追い付かれてしまうので気持ちは判ります。
    地下鉄直通への分散が全然上手く行っていないのがつくづく勿体ないです。

    Gdyby osoby jadące dalej i nie muszące wysiąść za chwilę współpracowały to nie trzeba by "dopychaczy". Czasami wystarczy zdjąć plecak i trzymać go w ręku, od razu więcej miejsca. Z filmów wynika, że środek pomiędzy drzwiami ani drgnie a tłok jest przy drzwiach. Dokładnie tak było kiedyś w warszawskim metrze - też wchodziłam (wbijałam) trzymając się futryny by się zmieścić. Ludzie to niereformowalne stworzenia - gdy zajmą wygodną miejscówkę to w odwłoku mają innych.

    So I guess my question would be (as a person with disabilities, I use a Walker and have a Service Dog too.). How safe is this for us. Is there a specific car designated to us? Or what of the elderly too.

    • @TheNewRobotMaster
      @TheNewRobotMaster Před 2 lety +2

      I know you posed this question a year ago, but if you're still here:
      1) situations where the staff have to push people into the train are rare. Especially at this station. This station, Shakujiikoen, is a midsized station in Tokyo and there is usually not enough traffic to necessitate pushing people into the train. I have used this station thousands of times by now and never seen it this bad.
      2) this was pre-covid times. Now, many office workers are either allowed to or are required to work from home, so trains are somewhat less crowded at peak times.
      3) for disabled people and the elderly, how you go about getting on the train is specific to your disability. For the deaf, everything is written out so you can read your way in. For the blind, there is embossed flooring that will lead you to where you want to go. Every important sign has braille on it. For the movement-impaired, practically every station gate has a wider entrance for people to use, whether they be wheelchairs, strollers, crutches, people carrying lots of bags, etc. When you go through here, there is a station attendant. You can ask them to assist you. To get to the platform, many stations have elevators or ramps. Older ones, (mind you some stations are over 100 years old) have a chair lift that attaches to the handrail on stairs. It will take disabled people up or down as needed, but it is very slow. The attendants will lift the wheelchairs up or down manually as needed.
      To get on the train itself, the attendants bring out a detached ramp and will wait with you until the train arrives. Many trains now have a spot with no seats, so you will typically aim for there. The train arrives, they place the ramp, you get in and go there. Before you get on the train they ask where you are going, then they will radio ahead to that station and let them know. That station will have an attendant waiting and ready with their ramp.
      Elderly people and children have priority seats. There are only 12 available per train car, but if there are more people who need them able-bodied people will invariably give up their seats for them.
      In this particular, jam-'em-in scenario, they would most likely ask you to wait for the next train car to come because these conditions can be dangerous. People have passed out from being pushed in too much, women have been groped by unknown assailants, etc. If you really pushed to get on that train they would probably not deny you but... I dunno. You probably wouldn't want to as people in Japan are not averse to staring at disabled people, let alone the one who is trying to get on the overfull rush train.
      I hope this answered your question.

    • @AlisaSim-kk7hq
      @AlisaSim-kk7hq Před 2 lety

      for people with walkers or wheelchairs, they put a little slope in between the train and the platform so that they can go on it. And if you have an animal/pet with you, you have to put it in a bag/container in the train

    • @TheNewRobotMaster
      @TheNewRobotMaster Před 2 lety

      For curiosity's sake I asked a train station worker recently what would happen if a disabled person wanted to get onto the train during very busy times. He said that they would ask the people who are standing in the aforementioned area with no seats for disabled people to vacate that spot (as it is priority for disabled people and other people who need it), help the disabled person on, and then allow everyone else to crowd around and fill up the space as much as possible.
