Can I recommend watching a video by Climate Town on Carbon footprints? It's called "Why your 'climate footprint' is a scam" and explains how the idea of the Carbon Footprint was created as a marketing scheme by BP to shift blame from large polluters to the individual and that much of your climate footprint is unavoidable thanks to these polluters being involved in everything from urban development and the over reliance on cars to food packaging.
Offsetting your climate footprint is admirable in theory, but simply shifts blame and creates guilt in a system where the individual can't make a meaningful difference anyway. These polluters need to be held accountable, not the people living in their systems; the idea of a climate footprint has successfully kept companies like BP from getting pilloried by public opinion and consequently from meaningful steps being taken against climate change.

I loved this. It was so cute. I love the ferrets. My mom and I had one when I was in elementary school. I miss him. He was an adorable nuisance. I’ve thought about adopting another one when I move some place nicer but I’m 101% sure that my cat would see him as a snack instead of a friend.
