    Hold up you mean to tell me the Irish get a spare tire in the hybrid but the States only get a fix a flat kit and get told they couldn't fit one in. Dang.

    • @CompletecarIe
      @CompletecarIe  Před rokem

      It would appear that way John! Are the US cars all AWD? That may mean less room in the back to fit in the extra electric motor. ^ Shane

      @mushroom9913 Před rokem +1

      In NZ the front wheel drive models have a spare tire, while the AWD has the repair kit - you can see electrical conduit in the space where the spare tire would go on the FWD models, so a spare can't fit on the AWD.

    Have you got this in Ireland ? Here in the U.K. no Toyota dealer can even confirm if it is coming here.

    • @CompletecarIe
      @CompletecarIe  Před rokem +1

      Yes, this is sold in Ireland. It’s surprising that the UK doesn’t offer it.

      The Corolla Cross launched in Ireland towards the end of 2022 so this video does indeed apply to the version on sale in 2023. ^ Shane

    Probably better to get a two year old Rav4 over this........if I was ever that rich enough.

      After 20 years the prices of this car will drop far enough that you will afford to buy 2 of these 😁

      The Rav4 is now enormous. I came close to buying one but suspect I would have regretted it. I suspect one of the reasons the Jeep Avenger won European car of the year is that it was designed for European sized parking spaces etc. Back to Toyota, the Yaris Cross is too small and my knees hit the steering column. The front of the current C-HR is perfect but you wouldn't want to subject passengers to the back. The Corolla Cross would be top of the list of cars I want to test drive (especially with a low cost ten year guarantee).

    So this arrived in Irish market before the new civic 😁 honda abandoning Irish market slowly. Now all of those civic buyers will look forward to this or the new Prius.

    A pity is so boring and that grill just does not gell right on the front. Toyota have made huge progress over the last decade but this is just an average or even below average effort.

    • @toyotaprius79
      @toyotaprius79 Před rokem

      That progress of the last decade was them digging their heels.
      Toyota (or Irish dealers in particular) suppressed hybrid offerings until VW was caught and diesel was suddenly unattractive. It's all cynical profiting and projection of markets.
      If the effort was made to sell hybrids pre-2016, we would have far more on the second hand market amid energy crises.

      @@toyotaprius79 Actually I was about Toyota going from the most boring car maker in the World to one with attractive cars like the C-HR , the new Corrola and new Rav 4.

    Plenty of rear space for two adults 'you must be joking' take another look at your own video.
    My lawnmower is quieter than than the frenetic CVT.
    Glad I road tested this overpriced yoke, before making the mistake of buying it.

  • @toyotaprius79
    @toyotaprius79 Před rokem

    Toyota's assumptions of what consumers want is a problem, as goes for the rest of the car industry. Market speculation is just saturating offerings into a lack of real competition and choice.
    In Japan, Singapore and Indonesia, Toyota offers fine small hybrids such as the Aqua which second hand imports in Ireland has proven very popular, and the Sienta; a 7 seater based on the Aqua/Prius C that offers what market speculators think European drivers want , but they just offer god awful crossovers and expect the extra few grand is worth +1" ground clearance with tall, expensive alloys and low profile tires. 😒🙄
    This Corrola cross is bad, the Aygo X just proves the joke the European car market has turned into.
    The Chinese electric cars are going to cause a blood bath in Western markets, and they couldn't come sooner.

    • @toyotaprius79
      @toyotaprius79 Před rokem

      Sick of heavy crossovers, no wonder new car sales (excluding covid) have been shrinking across Europe and internationally. This means market share is decreasing, in an economic mindset that growth is the only way for survival.

    • @pawelcz1350
      @pawelcz1350 Před rokem +3

      The extra grands is for reliability of Toyota. In other brands you pay extra later for spare parts, even if it is cheaper to buy now.

    • @CompletecarIe
      @CompletecarIe  Před rokem +1

      We wouldn’t describe the Corolla as a bad car. Have a look at our latest video on it
