The narrator isn't referring to the sword you're holding, but to the sword the father owned. They're not the same item. It was just confusing phrasing when he said "THAT sword", to tie together the beginning and the end of the little anecdote.
The secondary paddle rather looks like a makeshift rudder for something with a makeshift sail.

I figured you'd get up the mountain, take the alien-fruit to see points of interest in highlighted-cyan under-water: I also thought the red-herb might combine with the alien-fruit, or the frog, or the alcohol to make an even better effect, or the red-herb might cancel the effects of any of those mentioned, or might be a spear-poison for sharks or a poison for the crabs, or an offering to the goddess in the mural. Good stuff so far!

Before I watch the video. I had tried to download the game and discovered the “Fester’s Quest” twist of the game. If anybody is familiar with that NES game, here is what made a rather boring just follow the path through the sewers game one of the hardest nes games it there are no saves or save points. You die, you have to play the whole game again from the beginning. To win it you have to go through the whole game without a mistake. This game is the same way. No saves or save points. Kudos to wolf for persevering through the game. The things he real does for people is amazing. 10 out of 10 howls! 🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺

I love the prologue as a demo model, The Riftbreaker did that and really hyped the game up for me. Though to be fair rather than releasing it as a game like this, it might have been better released as a demo, maybe it's nitpicking but ending the game out of nowhere as things start to get interesting is pretty disappointing, kinda like Game of Thrones ending on a cliffhanger or waiting a whole week for the next episode of Dragonball Z; while I totally understand it as a free "game", probably be a good idea to set up the expectations that this isn't a full game.
