This has to be the pinnacle of your exploration career, Colin. Some of those cars must be a century old. Unbeatable.
Brilliant find Colin, I’m not sure about the older stuff, but equally of interest is the Panhard in the early shots and that rare Renault 20/30 find another if you can!. Those ‘Citroens’ towards the end were also, in fact, Panhards.
The white Mercedes 450 Q reg is actually Reg’d in the U.K. in Dec1987
Fantastic! FANTASTIC! Thank you for uploading. You were lucky to get away with this. I was in a barn in Normandy once photographing two old Citroens when the farmer turned up and set his dogs on me!
What an amazing ... tragedy. Every French marque represented, some dating back to the 1910s! It's a wonder they were scrapped during or after WW II. I'm sure I saw some Panhards as well as Simcas in the lot, and maybe some French Ford (SAF/Matford) cars as well. I'm sure that one army vehicle was a GAZ, and I thought I saw a Barkas. Ten hours to get there, and you could have spent another ten looking - and still not seen it all! Incroyable!
Can you put the spoilers at the end of the video please? It would be great to discover the finds as you do. Great video and what a fantastic place.
I might actually try this and see what kind of response I get 😊
What an amazing collection of cars Colin , a really awesome place! Definitely one of your best videos up to yet . Did you see the British Mercedes in the last 10 minutes of the video? Q960 UGL last taxed in October 1989 so gives you some indication of the length of time the other cars have been there…! Looking forward to your next one as always mate ❤️👍🏻
First army truck you saw is a Russian Gaz/UAZ 69 (1953 -72). There's a 1950s army Dodge Power wagon there.
The other problem with these collections is local councils if they get to know about them they get hell bent in getting in there and crushing the whole lot on environmental grounds It happens to an old haps place I used to do business with I bought a motorcycle from him 50 years ago Two years later he passed on and the wretched council got in there and crushed the lot including the last known local tram car to be in existence There needs to be some protection of such such vehicles legally to stop these cretins vandalising them even if they are only good for parts
Oh shit really!!
Bollocks. They have no rights to do so
Surely that's theft the stuff still belongs to someone
The protection should be letting. Petrol heads restore them.
There used to be a field full of cars, mainly Rootes vehicles, in Steeple Bumpsted, until the council made the owner get rid of most of them. Interestingly he had , if I remember correctly, 3 Panhard Dyna x's and a PL17, which only recently went to auction.
Absolutely unbelievable people like this are the reason cars become rare
Great video again... saw some Panhards at the end (@ the TV's) , a Renault Estafette aswell (Van car in the beginning) and lots of VERY old car, the "Morris" is a 4cv of Renault aswell , and also Citroen cars from teh earlier days, great find Colin
Fantastique , merci au type qui a gardé tout cela , témoin d'une époque . prenons exemple !
merci à toi
Almost tears in my eyes...
A great find indeed
I am truly blown away... the 2000CS is the cherry on the top! Wow, well done mate!
Thanks buddy 😁
Rare and weid as they are, they aren't worth much - I was expecting much higher value that I found.
What a impressive find Colin.A serious collection of classics from a bygone era .
An absolute gem of a find, those cars would be worth a fortune if done up with a little tlc!!! That was a superb video,I do not know how you find these places but please keep doing it.I look forward to next weeks.😃
Oh My, what a sight!! There should be a law against it. So many cars that could have been saved. Could any sill be saved? Brilliant video, Brilliant find!!
If it wasn't for people collecting cars like this there would be less around. That's what a barn find is. Some one had the space an hindsight to preserve most of them in a barn that's good. What has happened to the owner happens to us all in the end he got old I'll probably died. But these cars will more than likely make it one day to a auction /dealer an get done up by an enthusiast or be a doner to keep another on the road.. Let's face it most people these days just scrap them when they start to cost to much to get through the mot.. They will all be old one day. An if you have the space an get some thing cheap cus it's an mot fail an is 20 years old park it in a barn for another 20 years an its worth a lot more than you paid..
Wow... This is impressive. Someone has got to start saving those. I would love to see a drone shot. Stunning there's so much. The owner must have been one interesting person.
the car with the suicide door is a Renault 4 CV . in Germany we called it Cremeschnittchen = cream slice
Fantastic !!!
Real car porn !

@@jinxvrs you're probably wright, I had doubts is it BT or CT but was too lazy to investigate even that
@@Zocky73166 u got the right
Bonjour i m french and living on the Rover side of britanny, south. At 4 39 the blue destroyer car, is a Matra 530, two seater central engine v4 Ford 1 liter 7, like in the SAAB 96. Very rare, but not solvable. Not a lot of car there are solvable, pehaps possiblumy to make a goog panhard 24 with 3. But maint it s pile of rusted metal. But incrédule to find such places, with the very hard environnemental law who wants to eradicate everything which is not bio.
The car you sat in was an Oldsmobile, 1951/52. "Rocket" V-8 powered!
Hello again Colin. The car where you make the statement "some of these cars are unrecognisable, look at that one" is in fact a Citroën traction avant, probably from the early 50s.
A Hot Rodders dream all those old boddies and bits . A great find mate I could get lost in there for days. Great job mate keep em coming.👍👍
The first yellow car was a Renault 15. Very rare. My mum had the Renault 17 which was similar and equally as rare. In the last barn the white Mercedes was uk registered on a Q plate. Last taxed in Blighty in 1989! Great find mate!
The "Citroëns" in the last barn are actualy Panhards.
The last few cars you thought were Citroen were actually Panhard
Oh wow really? They look so similar 😊
@@TheBeardedExplorer panhard was part of Citroën
It looks like they start in the 1920 and range to the 1980s that is amazing I am in New Mexico USA love what you are lookin at.
cheers blokes
Thanks you all.
Cheers!
If I was such a huge motor car enthusiast, I would want to live and die amongst these beautiful old machines! A complete mind exploding sensation to be amongst all of those lovely relics!
So sad to see this yet it's an amazing site. Plenty still worth saving there and they should be. Should be illegal to just let such old cars rot away like that :(
some great history there and some of those cars could be saved
'Four Wheels Wobble' here, Great video, well made and very entertaining, cheers.
Les Panhard , ils y avaient de vraies merveilles lorsqu'elles ont été stockées dans ces lieux, sans oublier la Matra530 ... 😍Merci pour le partage ... ! 👍
Hi Colin, what a journey to a great find, I think one of them car's was from 1910 to 1920, 1930s up outstanding to see, what a beautiful place of car's, just wish these could all be saved 😳🙊😪❤
Wowsers! Incredible find.
This is just unbelieble find. Part of me want to keep it that way, part wants to save what's saveable. Nice job Colin.
Crazy.. great find Colin 🙂
Yellow Renault a 15 (17 had twin lights)
Such a strange thing: someone bought the Soviet GAZ-69 jeep and rebuilt it to look like the Romanian ARO. Very unusual to be honest.
What I can ID (avoiding some of the more obvious ones):
2:55 - The yellow car is a Renault 15. The blue car behind it is a Renault 12. Early '70s, both.
3:17 - The light blue car with the aero front is a prewar Peugeot 202.
3:21 - Dodge WC-series military truck, WWII-vintage.
3:49 - The red and white van is an early Renault Estafette, 1959 to mid 1960s. You correctly identified the Citroen DS next to it, and in front of that (light blue truck) is a mid-1930s Renault.
4:24 - Firetruck is an early '40s Ford.
4:37 - Can't see it very clearly, but probably an early '60s Peugeot 403.
4:50 - Probably a Citroen 11 BL, mid-1930s.
4:57 - Two Panhard PL-17s, early '60s. 1950s Peugeot 203 on the other side.
5:18 - Another Peugeot 203. The '70s hatchback next to it is a Simca 1307, or one of its many derivatives.
5:34 - Renault 4CV to the left.
6:09 - Opel Olympia, early 1950s.
6:41 - Chenard & Walcker Aigle 22, prewar. VERY rare, amazing find!
7:10 - The black truck (behind the unidentified dual-cowl tourer) is an early 1930s Renault of some kind. The light green truck behind it appears to be a late-1920s Chevrolet model, and the truck facing the camera on the opposite side looks like a B-series Citroen truck from around the same time period. I can't identify the car between them, but the one in front of that, seen well from about 7:33, is another Renault 4CV.
8:19 - Renault Primaquatre, mid-1930s.
10:16 - Ford Vedette, late 1940s/early 1950s, hacked into a pickup at some point.
11:35 - 1951 Oldsmobile 88 series. The military vehicle in front of it is a GAZ-69.
14:46 - Signature Renault split grille, but I can't place the model. Early 1930s, probably. Vivaquatre, maybe?
15:17 - You called it. Citroen PS5, 1950s-vintage.
16:05 - The Peugeot is mid to late 1920s vintage. Probably a Type 181.
17:07 - Another Peugeot 202.
17:17 - Another Renault 4CV. Panhard Dyna X behind it.
20:58 - Not a Citroen, but a Panhard 24.
21:09 - Simca 9 Aronde on the right.
21:23 - Two more Panhard 24s.
Impressive you were able to identify all those! Are any particularly rare or valuable?
@@chrissuchomski1696 - All of the prewar cars are rare, although some appear to be pretty far gone. A few with good chassis and cowling could be rebodied, though.
Amazing. A sad end for some great cars. Thank you for this video.
Au début on voit une carcasse de Matra 530 ! Panhard 24 ct, beaucoup de voitures d'avant guerre aussi !
Looks to me like a Facel Vega at 5:57. Which is also a French car.... Amazing. That blue rear clip looks like a possible AC Ace.....? So much to see! Fantastic.
Hi..
Thanx for uploading...
Quite simply, one of the best barn finds.....probably ever !!!
There are cars in there, that are probably, the last one of their type in the world.....
The whole collection, must be worth a lot of money.....and thats the ones you can actually see......
What else is buried......
Love the 1920s and 30s stuff....ans the Dodge or Chevy weapons carrier....
Incredible find.....
Wow !!!!!!
Never seen so many....in one place...
Who owns that lot ?
Keep uploading m8.....
Thanx
I see amazing opportunities for cars, or parts, that have survived by hook or crook, waiting to live again!!
Unbelievable what is this?? Your heart will stop there!
Matra 530 LX Targa, Panhard Dyna, Peugeot 203, GAZ, Citroen DS, Citroen "Cream Cake", Peugeot 402 B, Dodge WW2, again the rare BMW C / CS 2000 (Shark) and, and, and....!
Craziness!
Thanks very much!
Greetings
Klaus from Düsseldorf
A lot off French cars 😱 A cold mine😄
Okay, THIS is blowing me away big time! How the hell did you find this?!?
Wow. In the last barn, it was not Citroëns but Panhards.
Amazing find Colin!! Never seen so many vintage cars in one place, so sad 😢
Wow theres some old french metal there some real gems cheers for takein us on the adventure 👍
OH MY GOD THESE FUNDS ARE AMAZING THERE WAS STUFF ABOUT LIKE THIS WHEN I WAS YOUNGER 40 ODD YRS AGO BUY MOST OF ITS BEEN CLEARED UP TO BUILD IN....THANKS FOR A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE. CROWEMAN IN THE UK
That red and white one at about 10:45 looks like a homemade pickup from a 4 door sedan.
Excellent historical 🚗 cars
The first car in the video that's yellow I'm sure it's an Renault 17 love the video.
There was Renault 15 and 17 with same body shape made from 1971 to 1979
One of best vids ever colin, at beginning the blue Renault at back of yellow coupe sure is a Renault 12 my dad had a red Estate
The yellow coupe is a Renault 15 !!
Great find there colin
Renault 15 in yellow 😳🥰
2:54, a Yellow Renault R15, 5:35, a Matra... (Blue and Yellow), 10:13 a Ford Vedette, 17:07 a Peugeot 202, 17:28, it's a Renault 4 CV not a Morris,18:02 a Panhard maybe a Dyna X, at 20:55 it's a Panhard 24 BT or CT( it depends on the wheelbase, wheter it's a short one (CT) ir a longer one (BT) not a Citroën, and 21:33 Panhard 24 CT as well as 22:33
yes - accurate
the yellow car is a Renault R15
Staggering!! Someone could make an absolute fortune auctioning that lot off!
These are Peugeot 203s, the first Renault is a Renault 15 TS - very very rare.
Hi Colin, hope you guys are doing well.
I loved that video. Loved seeing that BMW 2000 CS. Loved seeing all of those Citroens too. So many bikes left behind too. What a shame.
Take care and stay safe.
What a find, the yellow Renault is probably a 15, I had one very similar but it was a 17 with twin round headlights, same colour as well. Shame I don't have it now!
Thanks for sharing 👍
18:00 it's a Panhard Dyna X.
Many Panhards, some very rare
Omg what fantastic video of those great cars most of them was on the road right back in the olden days av seen em on utube most of em are left hand drive and the numbers on the number plates and the bikes are old as well I really don't know how they are left like that the owner have brought them and he must have been a hoarder and letf them to rot and I know that you are so confused about it don't you wish that they was all yours you would not even neglect em what a shame he must need his head seeing to what a great find
Over from beardo gets scared. Love this ❤
Hope that these cars would be rescued by collectors. Some are great and need just minor tlc, some are for parts only, but all of them deserve some good home and a good use.
Wow what a find 👌👌
I'm not a car perv but I get how this cuts you to the quick. It actually verges on criminal negligence
Magnifique 🤩
6:14 is 1952 Opel Olympia.
7:52 early post-war Renault 4cv
8:20 1930s Peugeot
10:10 Soviet GAZ 69 jeep, sort of like Russian Land Rover
11:35 early 1950s Oldsmobile 88
15:20 Citroën U23
17:06 Peugeot 202
You're right. I've never understood why people hored many cars with the intention of never restoring them and letting them rust to dust absolute shame all these cars could of went to people who would of saved and restored them
Thank you Colin fantastic remember and tell our bro stu this is right up his street 👍.
At 20:51 that might be a Renault. Looks to around the late teens , early '20's. And the truck next to it may be a Ford AA
That BMW rocker cover has recently been removed and unusual to see the british registered Mercedes too.
Excellent Find Colin
I Intend on starting some car exploring myself this year - soon ill be out of work with Argos leaving Ireland - tbh im glad as i wanted out after 22 years - ill have nice redundancy comin my way & look to travel around on my Harley - ill probably mix it up car & motorcycle -
There must be a few out there but I'd love to see a motorcycle Graveyard
Keep up the good work & stay safe
Even if they can't be restored they should be in a museum
I wonder how much money they spent collecting through the years
Wow the oldest barn find ever and you had great adventure seeing them all thank you for doing this video 😃👍
Old french cars certainly have a beauty unique to themselves. incredible place, cant help but wonder what the value of the collection would be?
17:07 - 17:17 Peougot 304? And a Renault 4CV, with the suicide doors.
Best place you have ever been. Pity video was so rushed
Fabulous to watch, looks like a Renault 30tx, dad had one in '81, was a very quick car
What a find! Here are some of the cars: At 2:56 - Renault Fuego. @ 5:37 Matra Djet @ 10:23 Simca Vedette @ 17:18 Renault 4CV (there was another one at 7:40) @20:57 Panhard (there were several of these in the last shed. They're not Citroens - "Panhard" badge visible @21:29.) So many of these cars worth rescuing (sigh). Many thanks, keep up the great work!
2:56 - It's Renault 15, not Fuego. And behind - Renault 12. Something that Dachia started with...
Green old military SUV - UAZ/Gaz 69 ( 1953-1975) also produced in Poland and Romania.
The green car with suecidal doors is a Renault 4, behind it in the corner is a Panhard Dyna X.
And also in that hangar with the Jaguar you can see the Opel Captain/Admiral, in the hangar with BMW and Mercedes three cars with a coupe body - Panhard 24.
Greetings from the fans of vintage cars !
Seeing that BMW 2000CS abandoned like that made me shed a tear!
Lol,, the old bike looks like it was ridden hard and put away wet,, and broken 🤣
16:20 was definitely '20's era with the wood spoke wheels.
nice find pal
Outstanding👍T.Y. for sharing
How do you find locations like this? Absolutely amazing. France seems to be the place to be for finds likes this, think abou the sleeping beauties, the baillon collection etc.
u enter a museum these carsmust be saved thank u for ur effort
It breaks my heart
What a stunning place! I agree, you topped yourself with this video.
Found this quite upsetting….people like these hoarders need to learn to let go…enjoy and then move them onto others so they can be preserved
I think it's a crime to leave all these beauties to rot. Sad indeed. A very incredible find. Agreed. Update on your camper? Cheers.
Most have been saved in a barn. Preserved. It's good some people do this. An one day many will make it to auction or sold to enthusiast collector etc done up an live on or keep another on the road. Looks to be more than one generation collection. The people that owned these cars loved them. But life happens you get old ill etc
I love looking at these classic cars. Love you explores
Your best video yet.
Renault 15 that first one.
I can probably name most . The van is a Renault estafette. Looks like you’re in Brittany (22) or Normandy (50). If it’s 50 both my mum and brother live there. Nice Renault 4cv in (morris!) there too. Those you like are Ford Vedette’s. Nice Panhards too (not Citroens)
