I would love to stay that long but the campsite has a 7 day max. I will probably stay three or four nights. I wanna get going after that. But you might be right and I can always change plans and stay a full 7 nights. Part of me wanting to do van life was to travel in a cheap way so spending money on campsites was supposed to be just for necessary times. Of course I could make the argument that it is necessary. Haha.

Congratulations … now the van organisation can begin … as you use the van and your stuff you’ll probably be readjusting for a while Don’t apologise for staying at paid places … in places like this you can relax and let your guard down , especially when you are exhausted … you are doing open and truthful vlogs and that is very much appreciated … I find it’s great to punctuate wilder camping with controlled, serviced paid parking as and whenever you need or want . Van life is VAN LIFE … whether you are camping in paid places, someone’s back garden, the wild , boomdocking or stealthily in a car park Excited for for … but it’s really relax and down time you need now 🙏☘️😘
@@out-spokenwheelsonwheels5870 Hazel ☘️ … I decided just as Covid hit back in Feb 2020 I was moving over from Spain to Portugal But the cosmic joker had other plans … so I’ve had many hoops to jump through … last attempt in Feb 2022 was thwarted by me getting Covid ! So with fingers and toes crossed 🤞 I’ve booked (with my son and using my sons car) to tow my caravan from Ireland to Portugal in mid May …where I’ll pick up my car (mini camper) and set up my caravan to be static in Central Portugal … then drive back to southern Spain to pick up my stuff (which is stored at friends houses) This in itself is logistically challenging … so I am trusting the cosmic joker has moved on to meddle in someone else’s plans ! 😅😂🤣 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞 So we’ll see … but each morning the sun rises it’s a new day 🙏☘️😘

I think that, it's a constant dance?? 🧚 I hope that you got left, a little spot in the storage for the, "maybe later" items. Thank you for all those excellent words of wisdom. I do think that it will be a constantly evolving thing to get my van more useable. Hopefully the biggest challenges are solved early on. Yes I did leave space in my storage so I can store things like winter then summer clothes and where I can drop stuff off to as well. And you are right about hydration. I got dehydrated the other day and it really wipes a person out. I keep a journal, but not daily. I consider emails to freinds and these videos also forms of journaling

Congratulations on your 1st day of vanlife! I did the same thing, reserved a pay campsite for my first stop. The closing date on my house falls a couple days before the Memorial Day holiday weekend here. It can get crazy at the free sites on a holiday, so thought I'd decompress somewhere hopefully more peaceful. I'm so excited for you Joan, and look forward to following all your adventures. ~ Cindy

Hi Joan I know this is a big change but you can do it. I am taking 2 short trips next month took my first last month. Still trying to get moved in with my mom to help her instead of going back and forth she isn’t on board with me camping alone I will be 62. I haven’t told her I plan to live in a van someday if the Lord doesn’t pull us out first.
I probably should not have told my mom about doing this either. And yet it gave her time to work her mind around it. But she still worries so much. I am Facetimeing them almost every day so she can see I am safe.
Sure wish you were near me, or I was near you! I’m in Texas, so I’m worried about the opposite problem, nights that are too warm and stuffy. I hope you come across some other van life gals to camp in close proximity to. I’m pretty introverted, so I don’t need a lot of attention, but it is a comforting feeling knowing someone else is keeping an eye out for me, and I them. If you ever need a spare set of hands, and you find yourself in Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, etc. let me know, oh, and my name is Valerie by the way, had to change my screen name about 5-6 years ago and never bothered to change it back after the person threatening me was handled by law enforcement 🤷🏻♀️
I don't remember whether I told you that I'm a T12/L1 Paraplegic. I was trimming a tree at home and fell 35 feet and became a Para!. You need to be careful about pressure sores. Sitting on your van floor, unless you're using a Roho Cushion, isn't a good idea. Where are you? Let me know and I will see if there's anything I can do to help you. In the meantime, keep using those good moments, like waking good up to sunshine, to help you stay positive. And, maybe some folks on CZcams can find a way to help you get organized and functional in your new life!
Hi Richard. How long have you been a para? Sounds like you are pretty adjusted. I was injured 37 years ago. More than half my life. Anyways, I am in the North Okanagan. Where are you? Yes I have had pressure sore issues in the past but since I have put on some weight it does not really seem to be an issue any more. And I do have a Roho but all the floor space in my van is my bed so I am on a padded surface. Just need to find a better way to make it comfortable. Are you van lifing?

I invited my mom to go camping with him she refused after staying home so long with dad being sick it’s hard to get her to leave.
