    Great video!! Thank you so much for taking the time and understandably recording them.
    Can I kindly ask you to share the torque specs for this job:
    1. bolts that hold the 2 camshafts downs
    2. Timing chain tensioner
    3. Valve covers/ cam covers,
    4. PCV valve
    5. High-pressure fuel pump
    6. Injector rail
    7. Front cam adjuster cover
    8. Lower and upper intake manifold
    Thank you in advance!!

    This could have been a fantastic video, had you explained how you set the timing on the new camshaft and the new adjuster. You tried to do that by pointing your finger to a few things, but I have no idea what you were pointing to, or what your criteria were. Perhaps you could edit this video by adding sound to it explaining the timing. Thanks for the effort anyway.

    Great video. 👍But always remember to disconnect the battery before disconnecting any electrical components. Mainly the brain box.

    I like this style of video! Worked for MBZ as an apprentice and then moved to VW on the line. Need to do my cam sprocket I believe, due to P002177 (intake camshaft bank 1 implausible signal) for my C400 w/M276 DE 30 LA, no OEM scan tools so tough to confirm with live data, thinking of just ordering parts, removing cam covers (leaking anyways, as they do) and seeing if my cam measures okay, and if the sprocket has failed. Do you have any advice, and also, should I replace chain/tensioner while I'm in there due to slight rattle, or is reusing the chain okay as long as my tensioner isn't fully extended as per the standard? Thanks in advance & keep up the content!

    Great video it’s obvious you are great mechanic. Hope you share more. I have same engine. I found oil in one one the spark plugs, so I assume I need to do valve cover gasket. What is reasonable to pay for that job?

    Thanks for this video! Would you please explain the requirement & procedure for setting the timing? Also, for fault code P0021 & P054C, which parts need to be replaced please? This is for a 2019 M276.823 bi-turbo 3.0L with less than 11K miles.

    Hello would you be able to let me know if i want to swap a used camshaft in m278 engine which is similar to this design, would i have to replace the roller rockers and lifter? Does it matter in this design? My camshaft reluctor wheel is no longer in sync with the camshaft markings and i got a used camshaft in good condition with low miles. I am just unsure if i can just replace it in my engine without changing the rollers. Does wear matter in this design. Much appreciated

    I would like to see the oil pressure VVT valves being cleaned and/or being replaced. I have a bank 2 problem where it states cam sensors and actuators and misfires in both intake and exhaust. This 2016 E350 is throwing a multitude of codes!

      Have you checked for the oil intrusion on wiring harness from the ME control unit to the components. This is very common on this year model.

      I’ve had the oil leak he mentions, make sure land check ECM connector for oil when this happens, and check fuse number 24 fuse under the hood If you are getting multiple misfire/actuator codes on 4,5,6.

    I have the same engine on 2012 ML350. Recently the breather valve was replaced as I was getting P2279 code. Along with it, the intake manifold gaskets was also replaced by the independent mechanic nearby. I think there was 6 baskets replaced. I went to the dealer this week for a service special free diagnostics and he is saying there is a small leak in the left and right cylinder gaskets (not sure if they are called camshafts cylinder?). The rubber seal and ring costs merely $15 but the total cost including labor is a whopping $1300. Is this worth? I touched the oil and it’s barely there. There is no check engine light what so ever. After spending close to $800 just last month I need spend money again? Can you please suggest what you think?

    • @MercedesBenzTipsTricks
      @MercedesBenzTipsTricks  Před rokem +2

      He’s talking cylinder head gaskets leaking. It is very rare that head gaskets are leaking on this engine. Usually, cam plugs and the oil separator on the of the engine are leaking and if they leak bad it would dripping on the exhaust and you would smell oil burning.

    Hallo
    I have same engine on my CLS 2012 , when I start it cold or hot some blue smoke come out , and engine have more than normal vacuum. In 2000 km need like half Liter oil .
    I was by Mercedes then didn’t found the problem.
    Can you please tell me what is the problem.
    Thanks

    • @MercedesBenzTipsTricks
      @MercedesBenzTipsTricks  Před rokem +1

      Thanks for reaching out. There are two comment things on blue smoke coming out from tail pipes in your case. You have leaking piston rings or worn valve stem seals or both regardless of vacuum pressure. These are bad that's why the engine consuming lots of oil.

      @@MiloTheMiniDachI think he changed crankshaft and crankshaft adjuster so in this case you will have to remove intake but I saw some other video they only change crankshaft adjuster and they did it with our removing the intake. It’s possible but you really need to know what you are doing and pre mark the position before removing old one and putting the new one back. I went to dealer for same job and they quoted me $6800 which I think too high. My car drives and runs fine but from past week I hear rattle at startup early in the morning
