- In our first episode of Speaking Style, we talk to Edward Sexton. A true legend of British tailoring, Edward Sexton shook up Savile Row in the late 1960s before going on to found his own house and develop a signature style that is instantly recognizable.
We caught up with Edward while he was in New York City recently servicing NYC-based clients to talk about the Edward Sexton aesthetic, how he got into the tailoring business, how his arrival on Savile Row turned things upside down, some of his celebrity clients as well as his new "offshore bespoke" offering.

Mr. Sexton left this world on July 23, 2023. His style is forever.
Everything about him is just so elegant. I can't tell why but his style (from what I can see from the video) really speaks to me a lot. This is what I imagined a bsepoke outfit would look like.
What a delight to see something so perfect at such a depressing time. Thank you so much for the video, it's really made my day better.
speaking style and talking watches, we just need one for accessories now and we guys are set
Haha, yes! Was definitely inspired by the Talking Watches intro set up here.
A true legend! Great video!
Indeed. Many thanks for the support. We'll be brining you more videos like this in the future!
so much class, great inspiration!
Mr. Sexton epitomizes class. Thank you for this great video!
As a man that's investing in self tailoring I'm just soaking in every word he is saying
What a talented and modest man. Not two attributes that often go together. RIP.
A fantastic debut episode. Looking forward to more.
Thanks so much, Ralph. More on the way!
it great to see your videos again! :) i really missed them. of course great viedo as always
Many thanks for the support, Mayel. More coming soon!
Brian, I enjoy your videos and your website very much. You truly are an elegant, well spoken gentleman. You are an excellent ambassador for Generation Y ( which is also my generation) and your musical talent is also spectacular!
Really appreciate that!
Enjoyed this interview, Really cool story. welcome back!
Hector Ramos cheers, my friend!
Your channel is one the best I watched,i take inspire from you
Many thanks, Jose! Appreciate the support!
Love this video!!!!
Brian could you do a review on Edward Sexton's RTW shirt line up. I'm very interested in getting a pin collar shirt and a hidden button-down collar. I looked through your IG and u own both could you give me some insights to general durability and the collar roll especially for the hidden button-down as I will be wearing it mainly with no tie
I have two greatcoats from them. What I always liked about the brand is the shape and emphasis on shoulder and freedom of movement. I have pretty wide natural shoulders and struggled with many garments being too narrow in armpit and shoulder, i overcame this by sizing up, but I always looked flabby as my waist was slim. With the edward sexton brand, it gave me a lot of shape, TONS of freedom of movement and it looks so good. I look like a brickshit house with a suit and overcoat on lol. It'd still work really well for slim guys I must imagine, thats why they have a size 36 (i think) to 44 or so.
So happy your back!
Hope to keep it going more consistently. We'll have more of these kinds of profiles coming up as well as some watch-specific videos shortly!
Looking forward to it, I have dreams of starting my own style blog. I respect the work you do 100%.
Wonderful. Good luck to you!
My favorite tailor ever
Amazing guy
RIP.
This channel should be
He spoke bespoke
Eh, I already own the mark for my current name. :)
thanks for this, does the interviewer have an email? I'd like to ask him a question. Many thanks
Only unfortunate thing is how short this video is.
Where in New York is he’s shop ?
When Dominic visits, they set up shop at L&S Custom Tailors. 61st and Lex.
Thank you . I hope he is a tailor with natural shoulder suit , I see some of he’s suit are a bit high shoulder
@@abrahamb007 Thats his signature look.
funny but all the "celebrities" he talked about I have never heard of them. I think the idea of craftsmanship (conveyed through celebrity support) is such a thing of the past. I personally avoid any brands that go on too much about celebrity this and that used our product. No one cares.
You've never heard of Ringo Starr?!
Harry Styles has suits with them. And the beetles too??? Edward Sexton, the tailor known for dressing The Beatles. Ok, beetles are non celebrities kekw.
