This video shows some of the testing I did in order to make the robots play the bass guitar. I didn't know anything about Robotics before embarking on this project, it was a lot of fun to learn.

Aaron Myers totally agree! I work on, program and maintain a lot of Fanuc robots, but this blew me away! I had no idea they are so versatile.

LILLJE No, those arms are designed to do things that are much more demanding than playing the guitar. They can move very heavy payloads very fast with incredible precision. For what they do they are much, much better than human arms. Which is the reason why we use them in the first place of course (and not to put humans out of work).

Parts of it are CGI and others are of him and the robots, from what my eyes determine the music video is complete robot CGI and the bts are part cg and practical.

Actually all of the robots in the video were CGI. He was using these bots to test how they would look when playing them so when he animated thim in 3DSMax and Maya later he had a good base to grow upon.
@@odin6647 That's not true at all, they were also used in the actual music video; why are you making up rubbish.. Did you want to sound cool or something!?
11 seconds into the piano test video, it can be seen that actual movement from real robotic arms was being captured and recreated in Autodesk Maya. The final music video is heavily composited using CG versions of the robots.
Of course it is. The ray tracing is a tiny bit of in my opinion in final video. Robots are too glossy. And the glossnes is a bit too sharp (don't know how to describe this)
