Indeed.. Out of all other species, I'm impressed at how good feline fathers are.. it's sometimes worse in the wild, but not when there's no competition for mates or food. In contrast to them, primates are pretty disappointing..

Instinct always refers to an action or reaction, that animals display without needing to have learned it. The animal is biologically programmed to be aware, and thanks to that awareness the animal has learned that it is required to look around to see if a hostile animal sees it enter. This is why small kittens do not look around and adult cats that have lived their whole lives in safe human houses don't either.

One of my housecats will always have a sneaky look round before getting up to some kind of mischief, usually knocking my music books off the top of the piano or swiping an ornament off the mantelpiece. I'm glad they caught the kittens and herself so quickly and easily, moving every few days must have really stressed and weakened her.
Now she can raise her babies safely and get a bit chubbier herself, too, with a warm place and 2 meals a day for free.
Indeed this Stray Mama cat is the Best Mother any Kitty can have. She is so intelligent & protective! I don't even know where she gets her own food! Ugh everyone always thinks stray cats are defenceless but they are CATS they can hunt, and live a wild life as easy as their bigger cousins DA BIGG CATS the way she takes a kits to a different place reminds me of a mother cheetah
believe it or not the tom cat will have been bringing her food, as well as her catching and finding her own. unlike dogs, cats have not been as domesticated and retain 98% of their wild instincts. many dogs breeds have had this bred out of them to be desirable pets. cats on the other hand until recent years were kept around for their ability to catch and hunt mice, so the desired quality in them was that they retrained their natural behaviours. i feel so sorry for the flat faced breeds, they have all of this but can't really act on it due to not being able to breath.

When we call someone feral, stray or whatever, we never mean that they don't have emotions or can't feel love.

These have got to be the smartest cats I’ve ever seen! The kittens must’ve told the mom that they saw humans peaking into their hiding spot, and so the mother went out to scout out for a new home for them, and the father stood by and guarded the outside of their first home to make sure everything was going smoothly. So cute!

These kittens are certainly world travellers lol They have been to more places than I have in my lifetime.
I wonder about Byul...will he ever see his family again? Some daddy cats are more aloof and just show passing interest but I have found quite a few good daddy cats even among the ferals who really do help raise their families. If I didn't have to move I know my feral cat family would still be together. I miss them.
