    Don’t do it, Queen!! We are all imperfect. Don’t focus on the imperfections. Your locs are beautiful!! Hang in there, please!

    I considered restarting, I had a professional doing my reties on diy microlocs, she combined too many now I have different sizes, messed up my parts. I just decided to do my own reties but I have learned to love the imperfections.

    Girl your hair look awesome! Don’t get discouraged, keep going! I love your hair! I’m praying this feeling for you is temporary. You’re my hair inspiration, I just started July 26,2021.

    I restarted my locs several times; 1st time I allowed my mama to shame me into removing them. 2nd time I wasn't letting anyone change how I felt about me. My locs were very thick, and I added extensions for my wedding. I loved them but they took forever to dry, plus the extensions were super dry no matter what I did. They took forever to dry completely and the clips gave me bad headaches. I combed that set out. This last set is my ace boon favorite of all time, diy micro locs. I wish I had started here. I make my 1st year in November, and there's no looking back. I said all that to say starting over is okay as long as it's what you want to do for true happiness. Many blessings 🌻🎀

    Love your locs and TFS! 💜
    I'm 10 months into my microlocs journey and my locs were started with two-strand twists so I understand your reasoning. Either way I'm here for your journey.

    Definitely add AVC rinses to your regime. I washed loose too early for the same reason and I have ssssssoooooo much frizz and unraveling. I have 4 everything hair lol I have different textures- annoying but it takes time. Some other diy-ers aren’t fully locked after a year. Don’t let that discourage you! Your locs are gorgeous and no one loc is the same!!

    I just combed mine out due to them unraveling since my hair is curly. I’ve started my current set with braids. You should watch videos on how to fix the holes.

    I think your locs look great! However, I completely understand if you decide to take them out and start a new journey.
    The holes in your locs can be repaired without adding additional hair. You can close each hole through interlocking and the loose ends will eventually loc over time.
    I’ve had my microlocs for almost four years and they’re still not 100% mature, and I also have type 4 hair. I braided and banded for the first 2 years.
    Looking forward to see what you decide!

    We are always harder on ourselves than anybody else. You are self conscious. Nobody else see s the imperfections. GIRL, I'm only six week in & considering taking out and starting over. My last wash, I GOT SOO MUCH MARRYING (MATTING). ITS CRAZY TRYING TO UNDO THEM. I've COMBINED SOME ACCIDENTIALLY. I Don't know what to do either. I think u should hang in there tho.

    I love your locs, I’m micro locking as we speak. I’m sorry to hear all the issues you have been happening…but I figured thats the journey…I go through a lot just dealing with my natural hair, I get frustrated and just straighten it, or getting painful braids and styles from a professional stylist. Excited to keep up with your journey.

    Honey take them out! If your heart desires. I totally understand and you had me when you said you ain't had a good shampoo! 👀. That's totally why I removed my regular locs and my micro locs before. My head has to get scrubbed weekly and that's why I didn't return to locs. 👍🏾

    Your hair is so beautiful. I feel you on the sizes - don’t get me started 😂! I have 4b/c hair and used braids this helped with the slippage. I got frustrated last month and then decided to try the sister locks shampoo in addition to the suave clarifying and I noticed a change. I noticed a couple of holes and interlocked them to close them up. Please don’t give up trust the process, hang in there. You’ve got this 💪🏾.

    I’m where you are. I’ll be a year in a December. And my hair just isn’t where I want it to be. Retwisting was a good idea to help with a take down. But I would just cut them out if I get tired. I’m gonna try retwisting for the time being and see how I feel in a few months.

  • @lolo8288
    @lolo8288 Před 3 lety

    PERFECTION DOES NOT EXIST. No matter what you do, you will run into an issue at some point with your hair. I started my locs for spiritual reasons & medaphor for life. When I run into issues, what am I going make the best of it or attempt to correct without giving up & to keep going.

  • @raquelhuyler7309
    @raquelhuyler7309 Před 3 lety

    you can probably use a loc hook to close up the holes. I find that the smaller the twist the longer they will take to lock up

  • @shesit318
    @shesit318 Před 3 lety

    Oh nooo! I really wish you wouldn't take them out but I understand. You have to be satisfied with it. On another note, it can take a while to fully loc. I know someone that's 21 months and still not fully loc'd. I'm still tuning in either way.

    They look beautiful! I would consider going to a loctician, they may be able to fix all of your issues, answer your questions, and save your loc journey. ACV rinses are really good for getting a clean detox.

    Girl, I am having the same issues, I keep thinking maybe this is why ppl go to the professionals. My locs unravel so much and I tried using product and everything. NOTHING IS WORKING

  • @raquelhuyler7309
    @raquelhuyler7309 Před 3 lety

    I'm eight months in and started with twists as well. i have different sizes to begin with i split a few so now i have some that the perfect size, some that are to small and others that are too big. before my first retie i decided that what i did not split by then i would stay as is but now im considering splitting a few because they got swelled and got bigger. sigh i also despise braiding and banding to wash but i also hate when i don't do it because i end up with holes. smt at least i think im almost fully loc'd so we'll see what happens when i get to the one year mark..........
    LASTLY, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!

  • @catinaellis126
    @catinaellis126 Před 2 lety

    I got micro locs 2 weeks ago and by day 2 I realized I have A LOT of loose hair! The loctician really didn’t give me an explanation and though I was warned of slippage, I’m feeling she didn’t twist down far enough. If slippage can happen overnight, I might not be keeping these. 😩

    • @KhaliliaTanae
      @KhaliliaTanae  Před 2 lety

      Yes it can be a little frustrating with all the different experiences you'll explore with these locs lol.. but eventually the slipping will stop. They say to trust the process. So I myself am still trying to do that. I've noticed coils stay in my hair best. Hope it gets better for u sis 😊

    Ok. Lemi say this. I am past 9 months locd. Started with two strand twists but i have a whole bunch of interlocs in my hair. I had someone do the two strand twists however not every loc i have is the same size since we split a couple. So i get what u are saying about that. I will be combining those. I also have faced alot of unraveling which i keep fixing every single time i retighten my locs. However there is a decrease. I stopped braiding and banding

    Have you tried castile soap or Dawn dishwashing liquid? I started my locs by taking pieces, I didn't part my hair in a pattern as my hair is thin! This is my 3rd restart in 3 week! But I want locs so bad!
