As of today 9/13/2023, I decided to come back here to tribute Yu-Peng-Chen's amazing work now that he announced that he is leaving the Hoyo Mix team.

Yu-Peng Chen, as known as Zhiyi Chen, is a film composer, music producer and music director based in Shanghai, China. He is one of the most versatile and respected composers currently working in the industry, Zhiyi Chen's career spans over fifteen years. He has scored not only a wide range of films, TV shows and video games, but has also written many popular songs influenced by traditional Chinese culture. Chen graduated with honors from the Shanghai Conservatory of music. During his study, he received professional training in both music production and composition from renowned musicians like An Dong. Over the years, Chen has worked with many artists from different cultural background. It added more variety and cultural influences to his music, which is starting to get more recognition internationally. 3:50 It went from almost cheerful to somber, hitting us with melancholy, showing us this great mountain enveloped by an unending blizzard, Aether walking alongside Paimon where a great kingdom used to be, only leaving behind bare pillars and rubble, signifying a great tragedy has happened here, the song then becomes slower and the chorus starts fading like the people that used to live in the kingdom, their stories was left unfinished and eventually forgotten, their voices fading away in cold-freezing winds.

As a kid who has grown up from a countryside family for my whole life and is going to return back there, I can say that when you look outside where there’s rice fields everywhere and stars above, it’s certainly beautiful. No city. Just street lights and the beauty.

Even when I listen to this song with the intent to relax further, the 3:50-4:26 part always reminds me of my own loneliness and other not-so-joyful things (lack of ambition, as well as lack of hope in this world that doesn't seem to have much room, if at all, for hope itself)... At this point I feel that Genshin is already more than just a game, it has become a genre, where your imagination can have a place to roam freely.
I feel like they should put more stuff in the games (may be in the future) right now im in the vast open world and i can't even do anything.

@@Eirocina just increasing the amount and frequency of the random events that pop up (like saving pallad... which I don't) and also making them spawn anywhere in the map and stay there for a longer while or until you complete them (maybe decreasing their rewards so they don't become an exploit) would be more than enough to keep me playing after I've spent all my resin.

@@freakstr0437 that sounds like such peaceful way to play hahah I set myself the goal to get the 7 archons and I got Venti and Zhongli on their first banners, though I have pulled for some other 4 starts and I spent a lot getting Xiao (risky play since I'm a full on f2p) but I get your point. Do little stuff to pass time. It's a beautiful world the one they created.
My favorite music in the game...I still have Albedo's story quest left and been leaving it as the last one because I want as many things to do in Dragonspine as possible. I love the lore and snow-buried stories on this mountain. I already 100% the exploration of the mountain too. I refuse to use teleport while exploring this mountain every time, I enjoy jogging on the crunchy snow and love Barbara's reaction when it snows. There's a melancholy, yet yearning feeling I get whenever I wonder on this mountain.

This is the most emotionally healthy and peaceful I've felt with a game that includes gacha element. I've been able to detach myself from other bad habits, I remember to try and feel happier and search my feelings more, I feel the wish to reconnect with my loved ones. One of the most beautiful pieces Yu-Peng Chen has composed in my opinion. And now he's leaving to pave a new path and inspire more people. His contribution for Genshin will never be forgotten. Truly a gifted composer.
I will come back here every year and listen to it until we get to Snezhnaya so I will not forget how beautiful Dragonspine is, also to remember the joy of exploring it.

You know, I found dragon's painintheass stressful af so i didn't finish it. Now I went back in at ar55 to finish the puzzles, open chests, and make the tree alive and honest to god it was so refreshing and fun compared to inazuma's balethunder. I finally understood how some players found the sheer cold mechanic fun.
It's because I tried speedrunning it when I was still AR30 😂 I was unprepared. Now that I am, let's say at least I can chill like hecc in that icy mountain, listening to angels singing while I bask in the snow.
Also c1 klee + bennett helps a lot burn the crap out of all the cryo so there's that
I even didn't heared the song while playing.....its so beautiful....(i was mostly trying to run from one torch to another while screaming 😂)
One day when all of the regions are unlocked, when all the archons show themselves and you and your sibling found peace atlast, the game concludes and paimon bids her last goodbye, i'll go back here to remember and feel where it all starts.

I can't believe this doesn't get a bazillion views. this is so high production! and it really hits hard nearing the end... that shift to minor key as the medley switches to the finale of snow-buried tales... man. It incredibly conveys the melancholia and sombre atmosphere of dragonspine. cold, relentless, but also tinged with a hint of longing and deep grief.

As soon as I heard the news about Yu-Peng Chen leaving, this live performance came to mind in an instant. And here I am yet again. He is the reason I strive to be a composer. And on behalf of the Genshin Impact community, I would like to thank him and everyone else involved in HOYO-MIX for creating perhaps one of the greatest video game soundtracks to ever exist today. It has been such a beautiful 3-year musical journey for us travelers, and we all would like to say our graceful goodbyes to Yu-Peng Chen and wish him all the best in his future endeavors! The problem is that once you complete it, there's no reason to go back to it (except the occsional daily quest).

@@LittleWhole forgettable? I spent more than a month exploring that place. So dense with environmental puzzles and climbing paths. the quests don't send u there often but that's the same deal for the rest of the map.
It's a masterpiece that I always have to go back to, and now we're close to 2024, and I'm still coming back here.

I hope the comments in this video never gets toxic. At first.. I was with the majority.. I agreed that the rewards were making our support and love for them undervalued.
But now that it has gotten worse.. I'd just like to say.. Genshin Impact is not all about intertwined fates or gacha.. or 5 stars. Do not compare Genshin Impact with other Gacha games because those games are pure gacha.
Look at this masterpiece.. does this look like something other gacha games could do? Sometimes people need to just calm down and let things flow because who knows.. maybe one day miHoYo will one day realize themselves how stingy they've been.
Enjoy the free game.. stop grinding for once and go on top of the highest mountain in Liyue, Mondstadt or Inazuma and just.. close your eyes and listen to the beautiful music.. explore this amazing game and just... man.. just be happy.

True. Not more sadder than it's supposed to be tho, knowing what happened to the civilization that lived there makes the music very haunting. Remnants of a civilization lost to time, all you can find of them is the drawings on the walls to tell their stories. This is the perfect song to capture the feeling. Reminds me of the game Journey.

This is why people should give mihoyo some time to release new contents as they are creating masterpieces such as these. Sadly, a lot of people do not seem to care about the details and elements. They just want to play only the game.

@@pan1300 Usually people who played since the beginning would run out of content within 2 weeks as they poured their time into it including me. Additionally, it was during the covid period so everybody got time in their hands.
At my current state, I too do find the game to be empty but I always try to leave some stuffs to do and come back to it after
every time I teleport to Liyue, when the BGM plays, I always just slow down and enjoy the scenery around me as the music plays

I climb the ice mountain when I was around AR10, then I got a trauma, this place is really scary!
I tried to access the Statue, but instead I lost and found a closed big door, a dead end.. Didn't know what to do, my characters died one by one because of the cold.
But, I keep curious about this place, and keep explore it, find a way to access the statue, finished the quests, and this scary place become my most explored place even I'm AR35 now.
Coming here on Christmas Eve just to reinforce how beautiful the soundtracks of Genshin can be. Merry Christmas to all who celebrate!

I'm so grateful for Genshin, seriously. There's just something about the scenery and the music that just makes me so nostalgic and at peace. I'm so thankful that we are able to enjoy such a great game for free. Thank you Mihoyo for always serving us the absolute best when it comes to aesthetics and mood-building. Dragonspine is so so so beautiful
Especially Dragonspine and Liyue's mountains. The music with the scenery soothe my soul. Sitting on top of Liyue's mountains with the flute playing in the background, and then this OST for Dragonspine make me go to places even if i don't have any work to do there
Me too. My husband suffers from light depression and this game literally saves him. By playing Genshin he found something to look forward to. Just strolling and chilling while listening to the music. He begins to feel that life may not be as hard as he thought it was.

One year almost 2 years later and I still find myself amused and in awe with the songs of dragonspine, it gives me memories of the early days of me playing Genshin Impact, a wonderful nostalgia to have thank you Hoyoverse.
My favourite place in Genshin, ost never fails to bring back memories. Just wait until i have a stable device to play Genshin again, i miss it so fricking much seeing my screenshots of my team.
