Hi Renee, So happy to see this video! I am in my seventh week of Retin A Tretanoin .025% It has been quite the journey so far. This is my first time with prescription Retin A , but I did thoroughly acclimate my skin for about 6 months before with otc products which I think made a world of difference. I am seeing amazing results so far but with the good comes the bad. About once a week my skin decides it hates me and becomes red and itchy. I don't have much peeling, however I am pretty sure its because I have oil skin. There are a few products that have really been so comforting , calming , and soothing for me. Klairs midnight blue oil and midnight blue cream and blue sheet mask This trio from Klairs is an absolute must have for me. I would also like to mention I'm From Rice Toner, this toner is out of this world! Thank you so much for introducing me to this product, I'v never used anything like it before and I cannot live without this toner. Another toner that has been so soothing is Paula's Choice , Advanced replenishing toner. For anyone here that is considering the Retin A path, I highly recommend checking out the Klairs Midnight Blue line in addition to the products you have mentioned . I can't wait for your next video :)

same question - have done a bit of research now but a bit on the fence.
i was considering either a basic neutrogena wrinkle repair night cream with retinol or indeed lab retinol reface. then gradually work up to the ordinary or paula's choice retinol products.

Ann Thomas I would use the ordinary, they are very well priced and extremely effective as the actual retinoid/retinol are very low percentages so they do not cost that much to make as the primary base is either Squalene or an Emulsion.

I've been thinking and contemplating for when my course is finished and I transition post-isotretinoin, how I'm going to approach taking care of my skin moving forward and reintroducing actives into my routine and one of the actives I know I want in my routine post-isotretinoin is retinol. your tip about avoiding the nostril area is great! when I started tretinoin, the area around my nostrils was so red and sensitive, I always thought it was because that area was just prone to sensitivity. I don’t have the problem anymore since taking better care of my skin, but it makes sense that product would collect around that area.

This is a great video and so informative. About 10 days ago I started the retinol serum from first aid beauty. (0.25% I believe) i had used some of the serums that contain very small amounts of retinol from Paula’s Choice in the past but wanted to try a little more. I made the mistake of not noticing any side affects at first and secondly applying a little too much one evening. Shortly after my face was stinging and peeling. I backed off and have been using my delicate moisturizers keeping super hydrated. Tonight I will have to try putting on after my serum-that is a great tip. Also super helpful to know about the azelaic acid as I already have that from PC and have been using that for a while. I had been using the bha 2x a week but will stop that for now.

Thank you for the great video! I was only using Luna oil and the Descipline one but thinking to move to Osmosis vit A serum... do you think it's ok to do it or I have to use less strong products before starting with Osmosis ones? Thank u!X

Wow! Such a brilliantly explained video 👍🏼. I am new to retinol its quite scary for me. I have just started on 0.25% retinol by Alumier. I use to use azelaic acid 10% every night.
Can i use azelaic acid the nights i am not using retinol? I only use retinol 2x a week.
    Xxx

When referring to irritation. Do you mean purging as well? I'm currently going through this. Any recommendations? Please and thanks

Thanks for this. Been going through a retinoid journey for a while now. Currently using curology with a very low dosage of tretinoin (.009%). Any thoughts on curology?

I use epiduo (I think you maybe call it Differin?) but my prescription is close to running out. What would be a good alternative? I have tried the ordinary granactive emulsion, but nothing keeps my acne away like the epiduo combo of adapalene and benzol peroxide

Will skinoren cream work under retinoids? For the azelaic acid layer. I find that quite irritating itself.

Such a great video! Can you please share the eye cream with retinoids you mentioned using instead of Retin A under your eyes, or if there's a video about that, please let me know which one? I'm struggling with dryness and fine lines under my eyes. Thanks!

Hi Rene, your hair is looking amazing. But back to the retinol questions, I'm currently using the Paula's Choice 1% retinol booster after cleansing and toning and then layering a moisturizer on top such as Drunk Elephant Lala retro whiped cream or Paula's Choice defense nightly conditioning cream once a week or every 5 or 6 days. Loving the results and no negative kick backs. But I do use AHAs and BHAs on non retinol nights. Do you have a recommendation on spacing use of AHA and BHA when using retinol. Is it good enough to just do them on alternate nights or should there be more nights between applications. Thanks

Love your videos, can you do a whole step by step AM and PM routine for hyperpigmentation. With reasonably priced products. For the many of us who are on a budget. 😊

She's done various guides on this. If you watch those videos, pay attention to the ingredients that she highlights rather than the actual products themselves since most of them will not be drugstore price.
Then watch her budget skincare recommendations videos.
Utilizing those resources, you can build your own routine. Just a heads up that you'll have to look for alternative products if you're not in the US because many of the products she recommends, unfortunately, I can't find in Canada.
      Good luck!

Actually, I am sensitive even to the Granactive retinoid emulsion 2% from The Ordinary. I can only use it every third night. If I increase to every other night my skin gets pretty irritated.

@@aniovakimyan3258 Yes, but for me I thought I just had really good tolerance at first. The first 3 days I had no reaction at all to retinol. My skin just felt great. And then BAM it was sensitivity central & now I have to take it easy lol.
