I cannot understand why it took over twenty minutes to activate the snorkel after it was in position, man on platform, and ready when there were men with hose lines in danger on that roof. It took much too long for someone to give the instruction for water on.

They range from small rural departments consisting of a handful of volunteers to the 11,000 member FDNY that protects a city of 8.8 million people and almost 1 million structures. Do you think that all of these 27,228 different fire departments utilize the same tactics and procedures? Do they all enjoy the same level of staffing? Do you think that they all go to the same number of fires and therefore gain the same level of fireground experience? Do you think that they all have the same level of formal training? I doubt that any reasonable person would conclude that that could possibly be the case. So then, WHICH American firefighters are you referring to?
@@azul8811 No I don't think that. There will be different levels of training and staffing. Nevertheless, try and watch different youtubes of fire services around the world. It is amazing how effective they are in comparison to a lot of the Americans. Even Russia, with less advanced equipment is working much more effective...

A report published in 2018 by The International Association of Fire and Rescue Services indicated that: *ANNUAL DEATHS PER 100 FIRES* Russia = 6.3 USA =0.3 *AVERAGE # OF FIRE DEATHS PER 100,000 PERSONS* Russia = 6.0 USA - 1.0 *I saw other data from the WHO ranking Fire Death Rates Per 100,000* Russia = 3.25 USA=0.73 *EDIT: I found data that averages out stats from 2012 to 2016. Here it is:* FIRE DEATHS PER 100,000 PERSONS Russia = 6.9 USA =1.0 FIRE DEATHS PER 100 FIRES Russia =6.7 USA = 0.2 Irrespective of which source is the most accurate, I don't think that I'd hold up Russian Fire Protection as being particularly good role model or standard since they are abysmal among developed nations. As you are undoubtedly familiar with You Tube videos of firefighting operations from around the world, I'd ask you to post something that I've rarely seen. And that is a video of a genuine fire rescue from Europe. However, I should say, with the exception of France as I have seen a couple of videos of the Paris Fire Brigade, and they genuinely stand out in their aggressiveness in rescuing civilians. They have my deepest admiration. Now let me add an additional very important point. When I say "rescue", I am referring to a situation where a civilian is in imminent danger and a firefighter places themselves at unusual personal risk in order to remove that person from a life threating situation. So, I'm not referring to situations where firefighters raise a 90 meter aerial ladder or a platform to a window where a civilian was lucky enough to get to on their own accord. No, I mean a situation where the firefighter dismounts the ladder or platform and then enters the window in order to conduct a search for overcome victims and removes them. Or perhaps a situation where a firefighter removes a victim by rappelling down with a rope from above. Fair enough? I look forward to your response.

専門家でもなんでもないですが最善を尽くして頂いていると思います
建物内の構造もすぐに理解出来るわけではないですし煙も充満してるので扉の位置さえ分かりにくいと思います(訓練してらっしゃると思いますが)
そして逃げ遅れた方(要救助者)がいるかも分からないのに煙の通りみちを作れなどおっしゃる方もいますが延焼を拡大させてしまうのでは？と思います(多分)
これだけ密集してるので延焼防止と要救の捜索と放水を初期の先着では無理だと思います、
煙もすごいのでなかなか進めないだろうし、
指揮隊だって人間ですし活動するのも人間です間違えだってありますしいくら訓練しててもパニックになります。
ホースの位置だって考えたりしないと作業も効率には進まないと思います。
最後に自分たちが言えるのは「頑張ってください」くらいしか言えないだろうと思います
作業が遅いとかここはこうしなさいとか言う方は救助隊みたいに動きが早いのでしょうか？
口出しせずに消防隊の活躍を見守りましょう

Very difficult fire to put out. First time I have seen a snorkel truck used by this fire department. Thanks for the informative video.
