I am sorry Matt, in medical terminology a hug represents a diagnosis of a terminal illness, it's an accepted gesture whenever a doctor doesn't know how to verbally deliver the news. Additionally, a kiss in the forehead means a few days to live, a pat on the back a few months, an ass grab means less than 24 hours, and no additional gesture means you still have a few years left. It might be time to start going through your bucket list and make your will.

And then Cosmo comes in and is like I get hugged by my doctor all the time the bond between a patient and a doctor is very strong as strong as family so I don’t see what’s wrong with hugging

i was born with a pretty shitty pair of lungs and i had to see a pulmonary doctor very frequently up until last year (since i’m an adult now and it was at children’s hospital lol) and the very first one i had was such a great doctor. he was one of those people that you can tell they love their job. i can’t remember how old i was, but he eventually told my mom and i that he was retiring and i genuinely wanted to cry. he gave me a hug at the end of the appointment, and that was the only time i’ve ever received a hug from a doctor lol.

One of my last doctor visits we hugged. I had only just met her but it was a vibe. At the end we just awkwardly were saying goodbye standing and we both lifted our arms up hesitantly to indicate a hug so we both did. It was nice. Idk probably more common for woman but this was a first for me!
a dr never hugged me but i had a pediatrician who would always say things like 'god bless your poor heart' and he cried one time giving my parents some paper work, he was so cool, i later dated a guy in hs who had the same doctor, he said dude never said anything like that to him, i later found out that i had a medical condition that'll just get worse until my early to mid 40s or so and my parents just decided not to tell me the long of it until after i wasted time and mental health score on getting a college degree, life is fun

I have had a dr hug me. I had a procedure go wrong, and upon coming to I was heart broken. My surgeon gave me a hug and consoled me. I didn’t feel offput in that situation, but maybe in Matt’s 😂
I'm kind of a "hug person", as a kid I just get the urge and I still do lol, I will give hugs and be like "sorry, bad habit" It's like the wires between handshaking and hugging are crossed.
