They should also be addressing the racism on the police force. Even if stop-and-frisks everywhere gets ended (which they should be ended forever) there is still prejudice in the very institution charged with serving the public.
You don't realize how many blacks supported stop and frisk back then. Violent crime was literally out if control, blacks were living in constant fear in many neighborhoods. It largely discouraged many individuals from carrying firearms. The lack of instant access to guns is what led to the drop in shootings. The broken windows policy also reduced crime.

I was on the phone with one of my male friends in high school after he was stopped and it was a very Trumatic experience for him and his mom not only that I was present for a stop and we were all been terrified.
