“Sit with your friends;
don’t go back to sleep.
Don’t sink like a fish
to the bottom of the sea.
Surge like an ocean,
don’t scatter yourself like a storm.
Life’s waters flow from darkness.
Search the darkness,
don’t run from it.
Night travelers are full of light,
and you are, too;
don’t leave this companionship.
Be a wakeful candle in a golden dish,
don’t slip into the dirt like quicksilver.
The moon appears for night travelers,
be watchful when the moon is full.”

I''ll try to decipher the meaning behind these verses, its story of every person within, majority of it has got nothing to do with external world elements
Sit with your friends - means stay awakened, alert, inert in meditation. Friends is when we get initiated by a perfect master, endless sound, holy name of lord which is beyond languages, light of god (formless form of god) and nectar are experienced. don't sink like a fish meaning, don't dwelve into lower sense actions like sleep, eat, drink, physical etc. all the time
Surge like an Ocean - Ocean is silent inside, vast, with depth and rises and does its work without disturbing anyone, intakes every bad element. Whereas, Storm is wasting of energy in the wrong direction, basically, living on senses. Same way, a human being can achieve such a stage through meditation post receiving God knowledge from the perfect master of the time
Lifes water flows from darkness - Meaning, nectar that we experience during meditation, it flows from darkness (when we close our eyes, we experience darkness, we run away from it, i.e. don't sit in meditation hence the words, search the darkness)
Night travellers - Meaning those who dwelve deep into meditation are full of light, (Gods formless form is light, hence Rumi quotes they are full of light). We all are, hence don't leave this companionship, means don't stop pursuing God through meditation.
Wakeful candle in golden dish - means in this world full of materialism stay awakened, don't fall for its traps. Else we will keep coming into this cycle of birth and death (Quicksilver into the dirt)
Be watchful when the moon is full - when we go deep in meditation, we see light of God, be watchful of that, means don't stop there just submerge in it.
All this is possible to comprehend, only if we receive God knowledge from the perfect mater of the present times (Just like Buddha, Vivekananda, Christ, Inayat, Krishna in their eras)

Everyone knows about religious Gods,these are imaginary things and the experience of oneness is real.
Hindus,Muslims, Christians,jews , everyone believes in their own God and denys other's, and who knows about the experience of oneness?

The concepts of God and the experience of oneness is completely different things!
That's why I think we shouldn't mix them
@@sabirabibi7575 There is a day light difference between believing and knowing. What you are referring to is believing and not experiencing or knowing when it come to different people from different sects about their gods. God is one, that is why it is similar to oneness, when one experiences either oneness or God then all the differences dilute.
But the million dollar question is how do you experience oneness? What is that, which runs through each and every atom of the creation and beyond?
Rumi did that through Shams tabrej, Vivekanand did that through Ramkrishna paramhansa. How about you?

In this world we are in darkness.We cant see aheaed. .Its only in sorrow and no hope we live in the day The present. Their are 2 sides to the coin.If you were physicaly beautiful and spiritual ugly you will come back as physically ugly to become spiritualy beautiful. Yin and Yang.
