I have a 282-1 machine. Do you know if I can add a zigzag attachment to this machine?

Hi David, I just got a singer 281-1, With it I got a deeper bobbin and bobbin case that it fits into, along with the shuttle/hook that all this fits into… do you know if the 281 can use this deeper set up? I know on the manual / parts it only shows the one size, but I have a feeling the taylor I bought it from might of used it?? Hope this makes sense

Hello. I recently got a singer 251-12.. Would you possibly have a video or tell me how to change the stitch length? I’m having trouble re engaging the pin to lock in the stitch number selected.

Here's a link to a manual for your 251 machine.
      I hope this helps:

Do you know if the 281-1 is compatible with a needle synchronizer? I am going to replace my clutch motor that came in my machine, not the original, with a servo motor to slow it down. Way too fast for my comfort level!!

The syncho. will have a sensor that you place on the hand wheel. So it can be retrofitted to any sewing machine.
Be sure to manually oil all the bushings on your 281. It relies on an oil pump to self oil itself, but at higher speeds. It will still be fine working at slower speeds, just make sure you put a couple drops on those bushings before each use. There are a lot people who do this.
