I’ve seen a lot of live performances of this song, but when you put this specific video into the context where John was in his career in February 2007, his first time ever making it to the biggest stage of the all, Madison Square Garden, something he had been dreaming of and working towards his entire life, suddenly you can feel how intense the energy was in that room that night. Especially with this song. Absolutely insane. It’s this performance right here that made him a legend
I actually think his best live bad was the Born And Raised/ Paradise Valley Band. The sound that band had was so incredibly deep, wide and open. The Continuum Band was definitely the tightest band he ever played with but there is a magic to those performances from 2013-2014 that he has never been able to recapture.
@@oscarodonohoe194 Maybe a bit, but his main time with John was around 2010 when the line up had JJ Johnson on the drums and De La on the bass. Robbie and DRH were still in that line up. That was a killer band as well no doubt.

Just stumbled across this in 2024! Wow wow! They should have made this an official single/duet!
If y’all didn’t know this, John and Alicia have mentioned that they were best friends and it’s cool to see them perform together on stage
as much as i love the silver sky, the BLK1 really does have something special about it and i wish he’d go back to it from time to time
Ive Never heard a guitar that sounds like the Black One. There is a depth to every note he plays on it.
Brought it back like 10 days ago :)
its also because he uses a bluesbreaker instead of a klon during this time, but I do agree the guitars make a huge difference as well
Bro, this audio sounds like the master recording. Damn that amazing.
You know it's good when you're clapping at the video as if you were there. (Even Alicia had to walk away when John got possessed with the Holy Ghost.)
Haha he's playing ,,Castles Made of Sand" at 8:40! So cool!
Finding this is everything to me! Omg, it is a prequel to one of my favorite performances ever, Time Square New Years Eve 2016.

You have done the world a great service in bringing this to light. MSG ‘07 is one of my favourite shows from the archive.
This line up/era was by far the best JM live band. Every player was god tier.
I think his best band ever was
Robbie
Pino
Steve
Drh
But honestly JJ is right there with Steve. They are both incredible

2017 World Tour line up is my favorite collection of musicians on stage with John and I think 2019 was the tightest band/tour he’s ever had.
@@JordansTake35was bob reynolds playing with him during that time? He’s killer

Nice, more from MSG 2007 please, very much look forward
2:15 8:30 The BLK1 is just amazing, the tone is magical
Never seen this before, incredible video, thank you for posting
This performance is giving me goosebumps every time! Thank you for compiling all those crappy videos with that HQ audio!
I've been looking for this. Thanks. 😃
Ahhhhh I love it
Love it
🧡
Camera person you're fired 😂
does anybody know what pedal he turns on for playing the behind-the-nut harmonic bends during the 1st solo (2:45)??
Tube screamer
probably ts-10 or klon centaur
Who's the guitarist on is left??
That is the one and only David Ryan Harrison, his friend David will sing for him or do intro. David has a pretty voice also.
