I don't think it's a matter of "Drafts can't jump" it's a matter of "Should they jump?" heavy horses, aren't built for it, and long-term stress of jumping can cause permanent damage to their spines, bones, and joints.

@@snakecharms2320 probably not at a high level but for fun shows in the summer it’s fine - you can tell if the horse loves to do it. My loan cob loves to jump free lunging and he’s got scope - he would be fun to do some low level/fun competing with in summer shows.

This is amazing! I just got a cob 1 month ago and let me tell you she is REALLY stubborn every time we came back to the farm she just stops. We pull her and stuff but she never does unless she wants to. And every time I tied her up to the fence to hmm wash her, groom her, check her, tack her etc she will always move so I can’t do it. Although she is stubborn I absolutely love her and I always will. She is 4 years old and I was wanting to ask. Do you train them how to jump before ridding or in the middle or do you have to wait till she can canter and I can trust her in like 4 months? Hopefully you see this cause I need a answer.

I wish all horses and riders to have safe and long careers. The horse is a great sport and has a lot of scope. The rider has a lot of potential and a nice one but is being over faced and being left behind and jabbing the horse in the mouth but also is creating unsafe condition by jumping obstacles that are too big for the rider. This is apparent when the rider is being thrown back and getting left behind and you see the daylight between the knee and the saddle.

@@maiseywilkes3423 spurs are a useful bit of equipment when riding. if used correctly and efficiently there is nothing wrong with them, like any piece of riding equipment everything can be abusive if used in the wrong hands. i use my spurs to make sure that my pony didn’t ignore my leg and that’s what he was prone at doing especially when jumping i needed that back up incase he didn’t like the look of something as he wasn’t the most confident. like i said there’s nothing wrong with spurs unless they are used by an inexperienced rider who doesn’t have the right training :)
