Precure has new characters every year.
Season 1 is Futari Wa Precure and has Nagisa Misumi becoming Cure Black and Cure White. Season 2, Futari Wa Precure Max Heart is a sequel to this where they are joined by Hikari Kujou who becomes Shiny Luminous. This team fights monsters known as Zakenna. Season 1 was dubbed where Nagisa and Honoka are known as Natalie and Hannah. There is a lost season 2 dub.
Season 3 is Futari Wa Precure Splash Star and is the first season to have an all new cast of characters, this being Saki Hyuuga who becomes Cure Bloom and later Cure Bright and Mai Mishou who becomes Cure Egret and later Cure Windy. This team fights monsters known as Uzaina. This season has a dub that is unsure how far it got into production.
Season 4 is Yes Precure 5 which basically sets the formula for the modern precure seasons with a pink lead (which changes a few times in future seasons) and a bigger team of characters. This being Nozomi Yumehara who becomes Cure Dream, Rin Natsuki who becomes Cure Rouge, Urara Kasugano who becomes Cure Lemonade, Komachi Akimoto who becomes Cure Mint and Karen Minazuki who becomes Cure Aqua. Season 5 is then a sequel where they are joined by the fairy Milk from season 4 who becomes human known as Kurumi Mimino and transforms into Milky Rose. This team fights monsters known as Kowaina in season 4 and then Hoshina in season 5. Season 4 also has a lost never released dub. This team recently got a new focused 12 episode anime starring them and the Splash Star girls as adults to celebrate the 20th aniversary of the franchise.
Season 5 is Fresh Precure and has Love Momozono who becomes Cure Peach, Miki Aono who becomes Cure Berry, Inori Yamabuki who becomes Cure Pine and are later joined by villain Eas who becomes Setsuna Higashi who then becomes Cure Passion. This team fight monsters known as Nakewameke, Nakisakebe and Sorewatase.
Season 6 is Heartcatch Precure and has Tsubomi Hanasaki becoming Cure Blossom and Erika Kurumi becoming Cure Marine. They are later joined by Itsuki Myoudoin who becomes Cure Sunshine and Yuri Tsuikikage as Cure Moonlight.
Season 7 is Suite Precure and has Hibiki Hojo becoming Cure Melody and Kanade Minamino becoming Cure Rhythm. They are later joined by villain Siren who becomes Ellen Kurokawa who becomes Cure Beat and Ako Shirabe who becomes Cure Muse. This team fight monsters known as Negatones
Season 8 is Smile Precure which has Miyuki Hoshizora becoming Cure Happy, Akane Hino becoming Cure Sunny, Yayoi Kise becoming Cure Peace, Nao Midorikawa becoming Cure March and Reika Aoki becoming Cure Beauty. This team fights monsters known as Akanbe. This season was dubbed and available on netflix where the characters are known as Emily/Glitter Lucky, Kelsey/Glitter Sunny, Lily/Glitter Peace, April/Glitter Spring and Chloe/Glitter Breeze. The dub is not as good as the sub but it has a 2000s 4Kids charm to it.
Season 9 is Doki Doki Precure where the characters are Mana Aida who becomes Cure Heart, Rikka Hishikawa who becomes Cure Diamond, Alice Yotsuba who becomes Cure Rosetta and Makoto Kenzaki who becomes Cure Sword. They are later joined by Aguri Madoka who becomes Cure Ace and im still mad that Regina never got powers. They fight monsters known as Jikochu. This season was also dubbed on Netflix as Glitter Force Doki Doki where the characters are known as Maya/Glitter Heart, Rachael/Glitter Diamond, Clara/Glitter Clover, Mckenzie Mack/Glitter Spade and Natalie/Glitter Ace. This dub misses a load of episodes and I will never understand why they dubbed the name Alice out of it.
Season 10 is Happiness Charge Precure and celebrates the 10th anniversary of the series with the previous cures giving messages before the episode. This season has Megumi Aino who becomes Cure Lovely, Hime Shirayuki who becomes Cure Princess, Yuko Omori who becomes Cure Honey and Iona Hikawa who becomes Cure Fortune. This team fights monsters known as Saiarks. This season started a new tradition of a lead to lead baton pass scene at the end of the final episode, being Cure Lovely to Cure Flora. This has continued every year since with Flora to Miracle, Miracle to Whip, Whip to Yell and Hugtan, Yell to Star, Star and Fuwa to Grace and Latte, Grace to Precious and Komekome and Precious and Komekome to Sky and Ellee (we can expect Sky to Wonderful in the next few weeks).
Season 11 is Go Princess Precure and has Haruka Haruno who becomes Cure Flora, Minami Kaido who becomes Cure Mermaid, Kirara Amanogawa who becomes Cure Twinkle and they are later joined by Twilight who becomes Towa Akagi who becomes Cure Scarlet. This team fight monsters known as Zetsuborg.
Season 12 is Maho Girls/Maho Tsukai/Witchy Precure and has Mirai Asahina, a human who becomes Cure Miracle, Riko Izayoi, a witch who becomes Cure Magical and Kotoha Hanami, a fairy who becomes Cure Felice. Their mascot is the cutest, a teddy bear named Mofurun. This team fight monsters known as Yokubaru. There is a sequel coming this year.
Season 13 is Kirakira Precure A La Mode and has Ichika Usami who becomes Cure Whip, Himari Arisugawa who becomes Cure Custard, Aoi Tategami who becomes Cure Gelato, Yukari Kotozume who becomes Cure Macaron and Akira Kenjou who becomes Cure Chocolat. They are later joined by a fairy named Kirarin who becomes a human named Ciel Kirahoshi who becomes Cure Parfait.
Season 14 is Hugtto Precure and celebrates the 15th anniversary of the franchise. The cures this season are Hana Nono who becomes Cure Yell, Saaya Yakushiji who becomes Cure Ange and Homare Kagayaki who becomes Cure Etoile. They are later joined by Emiru Aisaki who becomes Cure MaCherie and robot Lulu Amour who becomes Cure Amour. They fight monsters known as Oshimaida. This season also is notable for including the first male cure, Henri Wakamiya who becomes Cure Infini although he only appears transformed for one episode and never joins the team offically.
Season 15 is Star Twinkle Precure and has 2 cures that are aliens, one in the starting lineup and one joining later. Hikaru Hoshina who be comes Cure Star and is human, Lala Hagoromo who is an alien and becomes Cure Milky, Elena Amamiya (the first and unfortunately only so far dark skinned cure) a human who becomes Cure Soleil, Madoka Kaguya a human who becomes Cure Selene and Yuni a cat alien who becomes Cure Cosmo. This seasons team fight Nottoriga monsters.
Season 16 is Healin Good Precure and has Nodoka Hanadera who becomes Cure Grace, Chiyu Sawaizumi who becomes Cure Fontaine and Hinata Hiramitsu who becomes Cure Sparkle. They are later joined by Asumi Fuurin who becomes Cure Earth. They were supposed to have an episode where they meet Yes Precure 5 but was cancelled due to Covid putting a hold on production, however they do meet in this seasons movie. They fight monsters known as Megabyogen
Season 17 is Tropical Rouge Precure and has Manatsu Natsuumi who becomes Cure Summer, a white lead cure, Sango Suzumura who becomes Cure Coral, Minori Ichinose who becomes Cure Papaya and Asuka Takizawa who becomes Cure Flamingo. Mermaid Laura becomes Cure La Mer. They fight monsters known as Yaraneeda. They meet Heatcatch in their movie.
Season 18 is Delicious Party Precure which has Yui Nagomi becoming Cure Precious, Kokone Fuwa who becomes Cure Spicy and Ran Hanamichi who becomes Cure Yumyum. They are later joined by villain Gentlu who turns into Amane Kasai who becomes Cure Finale. They fight monsters known as Ubauzo.
Season 19 is Hirogaru Sky Precure and has Sora Harawataru who becomes Cure Sky, the first blue leader, Mashiro Nijigaoka who becomes Cure Prism, Tsubasa Yuunagi who becomes Cure Wing, the first male cure on a team and Ageha Hijiri who becomes Cure Butterfly, the first adult cure. Ellee later joins as Cure Majesty. They fight monsters known as Ranborg.
Season 20 will be Wonderful Precure which will have Komugi, a dog who becomes Cure Wonderful, Iroha Inukai, Komugis owner who becomes Cure Friendy, Yuki, a cat who becomes Cure Nyammy and Mayu Nekoyashiki, Yukis owner who becomes Cure Lillian

I grew up with Winx Club too lol, that's why I got into PreCure later on when I was in middle school. I still really want a fairy-themed PreCure season.
It is known as Precure/ Purikyua (romaji pronunciation of Japanese)/ PrettyCure the anime has really nice openings specially HeartCatch, Suite, Futari wa, and Kira Kira ala mode. Precure is a very very profitable and popular maho shoujo show in Japan, it has been on air since 2004 and it has one anime per year. It has a very simple formula.

Precure is a series primarily for girls, but it's also known for its awesome action and fight scenes. The opening of Maho Girls Precure is my favorite too. Personally, it's quite interesting to create a series with a different concept each time.
The little creatures are mostly fairies from another world.
Exceptions include people who came to life in the stuffed animal that the main girl had, a species that lived in hiding somewhere on Earth, experimental creatures from the future, and aliens.
Basically, they are the ones that give the main girl superpowers.
Pretty cure is a really fun time if you keep in mind the target is like 6-10 year old girls
The recent seasons are on crunchyroll, and I definitely reccommend KiraKira Precure A La Mode!

The movie ``PreCure All Stars'' has a lot of depictions of the original ``Futari wa PreCure'' being the strongest, so I'm really excited.
The number of PreCure characters is so large that the number has now increased to 77, and many PreCure characters have no lines.
The “shadow monsters” actually don’t look like shadows most of the time! They possess random objects, like cars, trees, traffic lights, anything really. When they possess them, they look like a sort of mutant of that object. I’m not sure why in the opening, they depict them as just shadows. But they look much cooler in the anime!

The cures for this season are Cure Wonderful( we know she's a pink cure and that she is the first mascot precure and that she's a dog fairy), Cure Friendy(a purple cure who is Cure Wonderful's owner) Cure Lillian(a teal cure, who owns a white cat fairy) and Cure Nyammy( a white cure that's a cat fairy). We don't have any information on the mid-season cure but a lot of people myself included hope that it's the boy and his bunny that support the precure.

Im glad to hear how much you at least enjoyed the music for the maho girls openings. Its my favourite season and i am still to this day, 8 years later, playing the song on loop. That this particular season is actually getting a short spinoff follow up season later this year, similar to what Yes Precure 5/5gogo got last year where it followed them as adults.

The characters from Futari wa Precure (Nagisa , Honoka & later on , Hikari) are different from the characters in Splash Star (Saki & Mai) . Toei (the creator / animation studio for precure) made saki & mai look similar to nagisa & honoka as they were afraid that people wouldn't like it if there were new designs . Yes 5 is the first season to have 5 cures & to have for lack of a better word , new designs . The reason you may not have heard of precure is because in the west (places like canada or the US) precure isn't that common / well known . 10:34 ive watched almost every precure season except for yes 5 / yes 5 gogo . 15:02 the reason the precures change appearance (most of the time) when transforming is... Idk the reason but yk how with winx they're hair color changes a bit sometimes ? Thats kinda the same with precure . 22:34 the "little creatures" are usually the mascots of the season (basically cute creatures who are important to the show & the precure) the one in mahotsukai precure / maho girls precure is called "Mofurun" , she helps the two girls (blonde & purple hair) to transform into their cure forms (they need to all be present so that they can transform) . 24:34 kirakira precure is sweets themed... Ofc they'll be cooking sweets lol /lh . 36:35 there are 20 main-line precure seasons , so you are more then likely guaranteed to like at least one .

Seasons have different character designers with Yoshihiko Umakoshi desinging Heartcatch, known for desinging Ojamajo Doremi and Boku No Hero Academia. Suite, DokiDoki and Star Twinkle share an artist and Yes, Smile and With A Hug Precure share artists too

I think Japanese have a thing of shortening & combining the titles of anime. Precure is just the shorter and easier way of saying Pretty Cure 😂 And I actually watched the 1st season when I was younger. It has a nice premise. something about finding the heart gems. And they're fighting negative feelings/energies or something. The action sequence was pretty good at the time and their mascots are cute as hell I was considering buying their plush or keychain 😂❤

"PreCure" is just following a long-standing Japanese tradition of shortening the names of popular things. It is short for "Pretty Cure". "Pokemon" is actually an example of this as the original name of the first games was "Pocket Monsters".

I know it wasn't intended as a joke or something, but I did kinda chuckle at you saying the characters just looked a bit too childish... like five seconds *before* Kira Kira Precure A La Mode came on, the season I think is far and away the worst offender in that regard. And that it furthermore was a comment made during Mahoutsukai/Maho Girls. the season where the transformations literally entail the characters magically aging up. (It's never brought up in the show for some reason, but like, the design notes for the characters do mention that their transformed selves are meant to be more grown-up.)

Every season is similar, with a group of girls (and in Hirogaru Sky, a boy) starting a team of Precure, heroes set out to save our world, and typically another that the little fairy creatures are from. Precure (the original) and Max Heart are about the game group of girls, so are Yes 5 and Yes 5 GoGo! the rest of the seasons are confined to their own story.
Like sentai, they have non canon crossover movies with every single team.
Mahou Tsukai is getting a sequel where they are grown up this year, and Yes gogo already got once, otona precure.
I knew abt this franchise since like I was 8? I think cause futari wa precure and max heart (which was the og precure) was airing in spacetoon. But then never heard of it anymore till I know internet and tht’s when suite precure was airing so I kept with it for a bit till I became too busy so I just check their op and transformation here and there for the new seasons of precure till now lol. So if fellow fans ask abt the story I dunno much except for the ogs lol but I do stll follow abt their news.
Anyway abt the blue precure the latest one was actually the first time a blue precure is a leader since usually pink cure was the lead no matter wht lol (except for the ogs ofc cause they are the trend I suppose)
I think Soaring Sky the most recent one (2023) is by far the most mature one in a while also Precure is experimenting rn from first male, adult and blue cure lead, to 2024 series two of cures being animals

in overall this powerrangers for girls had a great run with some duds but you can't ignore how big it grew
my favorite seasons being fresh, splash star and smile, but like many people i also like heartcatch and even that controversially safe happiness charge or star twinkle
