  • From firewood poles to split ready to burn firewood. This Balfour saw running on the Kioti RX7320 is super fast! My nephew and my youngest son help make some firewood.

    I still use a few old style PTO or flat belt driven ones on my channel. I’ve got over 60 years feeding and off bearing on these machines. My arbor speeds are much slower and no carbide makes mine slower cutting through the larger ones. You’ve got a good start on the process !! I have no safety devices at all. Awesome video, btw.

      Thank you! I know the older ones operate a bit differently and definitely didn’t have the safety features.

    Yep that buzz saw is PERFECT for cutting limb wood or small diameter logs. Thanks for the shoutout Heath.

    • @hardworkingmanoutdoors
      @hardworkingmanoutdoors  Před rokem

      Chris it should be fine on an 80hp. I run it on a 74hp. The Pto just powers a hydraulic motor. I purchased mine at Eastern Farm Machinery near Guelph, Ontario Canada. They do ship to the states.

    you should place the microphone hooked in the front part of the visor of the cap. now you have it behind your mouth and it doesn't pick up the sound that comes forward well. 😉

    I like the idea of the samurai. It’s so much quicker than a chainsaw etc, plus you aren’t bending over. The big disadvantage is you are restricted on diameter of the logs, but definitely a lot more pro’s though. What sort of price range does it fall in?

    • @hardworkingmanoutdoors
      @hardworkingmanoutdoors  Před 2 lety +4

      I agree it is definitely faster and much easier on the back and cooler to run since no chaps etc are needed. It flies through logs up to 10” diameter. I paid around $2,800 for it and so far I am happy with my investment!

    That support that you installed looks incredibly flimsy. Does not look like it would last. Here in Ontario we used to cut enough wood for three houses for the entire winter all in one day with five of us working. One loader, one cutter, two guys picking up and one guy switching where needed between loading and picking up. We had an old style buzz saw with a table and it was super fast and efficient. These new ones are just not made to work fast. Not sure why they put a guard on the front of buzz saws these days. You feed the wood into a table saw, a band saw and a radial arm saw with out a front guard, what is the difference? You don't have a fence to cause kickback either.

    • @hardworkingmanoutdoors
      @hardworkingmanoutdoors  Před rokem

      Dave, the support and the measuring device are two week points on this machine in my opinion. I have a plan that will greatly improve ease and speed of production and will be setting it up here shortly.

      @waynetharp Před 2 lety +2

      Hey Wayne he said he is just starting. He hasn't cut as much wood as you abd I so really too much work and he would be better off purchasing a woodland mills firewood processor where its much safer and 50 times quicker that produces tons of firewood at half the cost and labor. But maybe he needs the exercise. Nice comment on saying toys. Good luck st. Clair man.

      That was arguably the slowest splitter on CZcams but we’ve definitely improved our equipment and processes since this video.
