I can remember joining a very charismatic church who encouraged anyone and everyone to pick up a guitar and try and play... this was the first song I HAD to learn.. eventually got it down enough for housegroup and one evening, without any of the normal musicians about, I gave it a go.... five minutes later 12 people where on the floor crying out to God, 'Great is the Lord..' over and over ... That's when I knew that worship was not about skill in playing instruments, but the heart of those worshipping :)
I remember very vividly listening to this song back in 2010 on my broken Samsung E250 earphones in the humble streets of Kwekwe, Zimbabwe. I had been saved just 2 years and would listen to it on my way to midweek prayer in a church made of roofing sheets because our building was not complete yet. Every time i listen to it i am just taken to that very place i would pass by at around 6 pm on my way to church. God has been good since then, now I will finish m Phd soon and found my way back to the Lord. Praise God
Prior to 10:30am on July 17th 1999 I hated everything holy. At that moment I was converted. I didn't ask to be or want to be, but I am saved. (Romans 10:20) I was informed that I should go to church and this is what I did as I believed those that told me. This was the first song that was sung and although I'd never heard it nor knew the words they were on the wall so to speak. On the afternoon of the 17th I was shown a verse, ''Therefore if any man be in Messiah, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new''. This verse explained everything that had happened to me. To the praise of the glory of His grace, amen.
+aTruster Praise be to Yahweh. That is the greatest miracle. I can imagine how it felt to our God when you got saved. There must have been jubilation among the angels.
SIGNS OF LIFE From here: Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; To here: 2 Corinthians 2:17 Therefore if any man be in Messiah, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Anyone having been saved will immediately know that something has happened. For the first few seconds, there will be no realisation of what and the recipient will be perfectly still. The inner light of understanding will begin to shine brighter and there is a sense of cleanliness, of wonder and then the firm and undeniable knowledge, “I have been saved” and then an unstoppable force to confess the same with the lips. The trust and confession are the results of regeneration and not the cause. The absolute bliss is the result of regeneration. Trust is a completely new experience and is being exercised in a conversation with his Saviour. Who cannot be seen, but is known as a certainty, for the first time. Hebrews 11:1 Now trust is the substance of our hoping, the proof of those not seen. I purposely didn’t include the circumstances of my salvation, because the circumstances of others will differ. But, the experience of salvation would not and could not differ. The regeneration takes a guilty sinner and renews him. The experience is unmistakeable, undeniable and unexpected.
Remember the most moving musical performance you have ever heard. Now multiply it by the highest number you can imagine. It does not and cannot equal the blessing and joy of Yah Veh Elohim that He reveals in His evangelism of eternal salvation to the election of grace in Yah Shua Messiah. Amen.
