Mozart: Piano Concerto No. 21

Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21 was completed in 1785, no more than four weeks after the completion of the previous Piano Concerto No. 20. At its centre is the most touching of Andante movements, which was unforgettably used in the 1967 film Elvira Madigan. These are sprightly ‘modern’ instrument performances with the backing of an excellent Belgian chamber orchestra.

Actually, no need to answer that one. I found out it was 2008. But perhaps you could answer another question I have. In the first movement I love but do not recognise the cadenza Clara Wurtz plays. Could you tell me who wrote the cadenzas played in this recording?

Wunderschöne und elegante Interpretation dieses fein komponierten Konzerts mit klarem doch anmutigem Klang des genialen Soloklaviers sowie gut harmonisierten und perfekt entsprechenden Tönen der anderen Instrumente. Der zweite Satz klingt besonders schön und echt elegant. Der intelligente und ebenso geniale Dirigent leitet das kompakte und ausgezeichnete Orchester im fließenden doch gut phrasierten Tempo und mit sorgfältig kontrollierter Dynamik. Einfach wunderbar!
