Thank You for this great tutorial! So many of these face mask videos just have a very quick demonstration without any narration and no demonstration of how it looks on the person. Plus some annoying music.

My husband and I are almost asphyxiating with how uncomfortable masks are! I need to research what's the most comfortable fabric!!

Why fake it just use a real mask. Your like look at me I got a mask too even though you really don't and it accomplishes nothing lol
@@necromniconlives This is just about as effect as a "real" face mask. Even the n95 masks have so many gaps around the edges that you're sucking plenty of unfiltered air. The mask mainly is to create a barrier to keep your breath from shooting out to other people. The only "real" masks are the silicon ones that create a real seal. I've had one on backorder since March. The sock idea is a good one.

Love this idea!!! ❤️💖💗 24 year & still counting Girl Scout leader here. Even though we haven't been able to meet in person my troop has been cutting out material from a pattern and a friend and I have been sewing them to make masks for healthcare & essential workers. This is such a cute & clever idea that kids can choose fun socks & even make their own masks start to finish. Plus now I know what to do with that pile of single left over mates of those consumed by my ever-hungry washer / dryer 😂 Thank you for taking the time. PS Ignore the trolls. They're just sad, pathetic & mostly miserable excuses for human beings who couldn't come up with anything this adorable if their lives literally depended on it.

I forgot the lightweight cloth mask that I usually wear inside in our office building where the windows do not open. But I did not want to destroy a sock. So I pushed one large paperclip through each end of a sock and then linked the paperclips together behind my head. I suppose if one has a larger head addition paperclips can be added to make a chain that is tight enough to keep the mask in place. It is not perfect, but it can work for a short term emergency when you find yourself without a mask. The plastic coated paperclips are preferable since the plastic prevents the cold metal from being in contact with your skin. Thank you for getting me thinking, Crafty Caboodle! Best wishes.

You make the assumption that the Dollar Store is open - not always the case. Also, I made a mask out of a cotton panty that I didn't like the style of, also works well. And use the hair ties for the ear pieces.
Dori, our dollar stores never closed. They were considered essential.

Instead of cutting the ear straps poke 2 holes on each side of the mask. One hole at the top and one at the bottom. Get two shoe strings or two thin strips of cloth. On one side of the mask lace the string through the upper hole and lower hole. Then do the same on the other side of the mask. Now you can tie the lower strings around the back of your neck and the upper strings will go above your ears and tie up higher on the back of your head.

Erick Mandujano A virus is smaller than 1micron and N95 filters particles that are bigger than one micron. Point is, if the virus was airborne N95’s would do nothing against it. the point is not to protect yourself but to protect others. Even holding a piece of paper over your mouth will prevent your respiratory droplets from falling onto shopping carts, food, etc. Something will always be better than nothing. No mask will prevent you from getting the virus, a simple good search on the size of particulate matter N95 filters and the size of viruses will tell you that.
