I cut my hair 14 inches shorter too, It was a little past my waist (I'm tall lol) and now I have a pretty bob, the longer ends just touch my shoulders. I absolutely LOVE it. Planning to donate, but the braid is still in a box in my room lol. Need to figure out where to send it too. (I don't live it the US).

That 3rd cut is why a lot of us don't trust stylists. These home town hair places don't do modern very well and we end up looking like old ladies or that middle aged mom wanting to speak to the manager! 😂

That my friend is why you go to trusty yelp. You can read reviews and a lot of times you’ll see pics too. That allows you to get a feel for the vibe of a salon. I’m a stylist myself, but hubs is in the mil so we move a LOT so this is advice i use myself. I do NOT trust many with my style. Make Yelp your friend. If they don’t have reviews and you don’t know anyone who get their hair done by them find somewhere else to go. Don’t forget to check your surrounding towns too. It may be worth a little bit of a drive, especially if you’re doing a style you won’t need touched up a ton. 🥰

It gets even worse when you start growing your hair back. Basically you have to get an undercut and keep it until the top gets to chin length, otherwise you look 40. I'm currently trying to grow back my curly hair and it's a disaster

I haven’t gone to same hair stylist enough times for them to be used to it yet. Especially as I keep going shorter. This last time it was a family friend that I went to for the hair cut and she was shocked when I said how short I wanted it.

I have wavy/curly hair that becomes SO dry, ugly, and full of split ends if I grow it out more than midboob (?😂) length. I gave up on the hopes to have long hair and keep it shoulder length now so I live my dreams for long smooth healthy hair through my friends, I love styling theirs, touching it and looking at it and im soooo sad when they shorten it 😂😂😭😭😭

Got my hair cut off today and I couldn't be happier! My hair was half way down my back and now it's in a pixie cut. And I was kind of scared halfway through not gonna lie, but I am so happy now and I wanted to cut it for at least 8 months. It feels so relieving and I am so happy that I did it! My parents liked it too! My little brother said it looks awful and I look better with long hair, but I don't regret my decision. I love it and couldn't be happier!

I've had a pixie for like 5 years. If you have a long side bang, you can definitely do mermaid hair on it, there are a lot of hairstyles like this. I did ombre to mine for like a year, only one color if I felt like having a shorter side bang. Color on the bangs or side bang looks more contrasting, dinamic and interesting than color on all the hair, imo. You can try and see how it goes.

I had a student some years ago who had alopecia. That was when I learned about the hair “scammers” who either sell the hair or take donations from people who think the wigs are being given to patients, but instead they’re charged outrageous prices.

As someone who went from mid back to pixie, I want the follow up a few days later when they realize what they did.
I had hair to my ass, then the stylist messed up and cut it to my shoulders. So, I said screw it and got a near buzzcut pixie. It took a few days, and then I hated it lol.
Waiting for the "naked" feeling to go away-but it doesn't.

I currently have a shaggy pixie...my hair is too thick for summer and I get headaches from braids and up-dos.
The first haircut I ever had was drastic - I had hair down to my thighs and I went in to a salon to get a bob to my shoulders in the back, but came down to about my breast in the front so I still had some length. The hairdresser kept the front area clipped up to make sure not to cut it, then without thinking she took the clip out, snipped it off, and instantly gasped as she had a moment of shock realising what she did and we both just looked at each other. She put her hand over her mouth and just stood there, I couldn't help but cry right then and there.
I know it was an accident, but my hair was everything to me and I absolutely hated the cut afterwards. She did her best to make it look good, but it was a completely different cut in the end.
I've had bad luck with hairdressers - I'm a licensed cosmetologist now and I won't let anyone else do my hair but myself.

Any hair length will suit you, do not worry!! Do men have entire videos and books dedicated to what hair length suits them? No. They just cut it to the desired length and in the end it's fine. Do what you want ladies
Talk about long hair. I had a teacher in high school who always wore her hair wrapped in like a loose bun. And that thing was huge. She promised to wear it down the last day of school and I kid you not. She had to hold it up cause headed it would sweep the ground. And it was all healthy nice hair.
It had to be at least 5.5 feet of hair. And I think she donated almost all of it that summer.

I got the best haircut after my senior prom. My hair went halfway down my back and i wanted to cut it short I even had a photo of what i wanted saved for a little over a year. The day of the cut they asked me like 5 times if i was sure. The second i saw my typically masculine cut i felt like i was seeing my true self for the first time. I felt confident and like i could finally walk with my head held high. Then a few months later i discovered i was trans and everything suddenly made sense.

I don't know if you've already done it but make sure you show them some reference pictures! It's also good to do a bit of research on which hairdresser you go to! I really hope you'll like your cut, I got a pixie about two years ago and was also nervous of that but I'm really enjoying my short hair, there's many different short styles to try so my first cut was not my favourite (tho I still liked it) but just keep trying to see what suits you :) good luck!
Second research on a good hairdresser! One that has done pixie cuts before. I've had good pixie cuts and bad pixie cuts. Some people think short hair cuts are easier than cutting long hair but that's not true! Hair grows back, you'll be fine! Once you go short it's hard to go back to long hair XD

I’ve watched this video so many times already. Half a year ago I cut my long hair (it was down my butt) into a pixie cut and donated it, and to this day I’m still excited about it. Brad’s so right when he says that it changes your life and the way you feel and think about yourself, not to mention the knowledge that someone will receive your hair and feel better about themselves too.
I deeply encourage anyone that’s thinking about doing it to just go for it!
