  • This is an infinite comparison video of the horsepower of the banned cars. From the slow to the powerful.
    There are cars that are banned in some countries or all over the world. For example, basically many cars are prohibited in the United States. This is due to their danger, unreliability, or the car is simply not designed for public roads.
    In this car comparison video you will see cars such as TVR Sagaris, Nissan Skyline R34, Wiesmann GT MF5, Maserati MC12 Corsa, Lotus 340R and many other illegal cars.
    ‼️ It is possible that some information may be inaccurate or out of date.

Same reason a lot of Japanese cars (kei cars and such) aren't sold in the States, it isn't practical for the manufacturer to go through the process for making it road legal for the country in question. I really don't think it's due to CO2 emissions but it's because NOx (nitrogen oxides) emissions, which is actually stricter in the US than a lot of other countries, including the entire EU. US standards require some form of emissions control (like in the Ford Powerstroke or Cummins that are used in the F-series and Ram pickups, respectively) or keeping the engine small enough for it to be exempt from requirements (that's part of the reason VW was one of the few that had been able to sell diesel cars in the US prior to Dieselgate).
      This is a provision from the Clean Air Act , so the video is actually wrong in this case.

    Two things people should understand;
    1. Banned doesn’t actually mean illegal to drive. It just means the manufacturer can’t sel it themselves. If that wasn’t the case, you wouldn’t be seeing tuner gangs with Skylines, Supras etc.
    2. American cars have a lot of horsepower, that’s one thing. But they really aren’t faster than some Of these other cars as they’re top speeds are very much limited.

    If I remember from reading online Nissan never intended to sell the skyline in the US and thus they never sent any for road safety testing and certification of approval of said road safety making it technically illegal. Now that it’s considered and antique it doesn’t require the same safety testing and standards

    Mmm these “bans” were due to safety regulations set for manufacturers during a rough age for enthusiasts. Others are just for rather importing laws, so not really banned more like.. delayed for arrival? I guess.

    1:09 Since when can an engine be "Too powerful for everyday city driving"? That's the worst excuse I've ever heard for banning cars and there's a lot of bad excuses by the American's in this list. Like do Americans ignore the fact that their own brands fall into these categories? Mustangs are known as crowd killers for a reason, they're both "Too powerful for city driving" and "dangerous on the road".
