In the moments before this video, Jacob told the audience that one of his goals for the DJESSE World Tour was to challenge himself to perform one song in each city that he had never performed before. Incredible!
On the recorded version in the album, I hear some kind of intergenerational story - a grown child singing to their elderly parent or a parent thinking of their now grown child when they were young and both feeling a sense of loss at the time passed. But this performance is so different, it seems to tell another story to me, I'm not sure what it is, but I found it deeply moving. Will definitely need many more listens to unpack
