Coincidentally, Callas’s 19th century equivalent Giuditta Pasta’s greatest role was Medea but in Mayr’s Medea in Corinto. I feel that Maria Callas’s Medea was a role that fit her like a glove. No matter the state of her voice she would always triumph in Medea. She had no peers in the role. I can’t possibly listen to another singer in the role , meanwhile I may enjoy Joan Sutherland as Lucia , Amina or Monserrat Caballe in Norma or Virginia Zeani as Violetta. But there’s no singer that can sing Medea. Absolutely no one.
RicharddtheStar: Is it going to far to say Callas' dramatic genius was "in her blood," due to her Greek ancestry? Regardless, her dramatic and musical brilliance combined so that there was no separation between the two. She was one of those dramatic performers who "became" the character they were portraying.
❤❤❤El tiempo sigue pasando y la Callas sigue siendo absolutamente la divina. Muchas gracias 😊
🙏❤️Grazie per quello che ci hai regalato

I saw Sondra Radvanovsky in Medea at the Met recently and she was really very good

Rita Gorr in the French original, 1962. Really she's the one and only match for Callas in this role.
🙏❤️

CALLAS ETERNA
Anyone knows where can I watch these special “Callas Day”?
Magnificently sung. Where did this film take place?
I believe this was Dallas.
Teatro alla Scala, 1961.
Как счастливы были люди, которые её слышали в живую, имели счастье общаться и дружить с Богиней оперы!
