  • I returned to Lake Tahoe this time on the south shore and hit another coin Mother Load. I also recovered some gold and gave my Genesis 600 DPV and Garret Sea Hunter metal detector a work out.

      I am fortunate that in California diving can easily be a year round sport, and I do dive year round. The Treasure hunting areas are less accessible in winter. I switch to ocean diving where the water temps in winter are high 40'sF to low 50'sF . Always good to hear from you!

      @LostandFoundMetalDetecting Před 6 lety

      I have no desire to "ice dive" here in the winter... I wish I could dive year round.. I may just have to take a winter trip somewhere sunny and warm so I can beat the "cabin fever" here!

    This was definitely a cool dive. Have you thought about carrying a small sifting shovel or bucket? That might help you collect the targets easier. The ring was cool. I'm pretty sure it's an emerald. I think Tahoe is the only body of water I'd consider diving in. It's clear enough. I was amazed as to how many crawdads were in one spot. Thank you for sharing your dives, they are fun to watch.

    No one puts a low grade Emerald in a 22K setting . My mom was in the jewelry business and I learned a lot from her . That's a score . It's a more modern setting 1 to 15 years or so and the stone is over 2 carats . That ring probably cost at least 4 grand in a retail store and if purchased up there closer to 6 grand . Depending on the quality of the stone it could be 2 to 3 times that value in a retail high end store . Check for makers marks , if it's signed by a well known maker then you really scored . Good job .

    Something I learned years ago thought I should pass it along...A person I knew lived in India for a year.. The Natives of this country are either extremely wealthy or opposite extremely poor.. zero middle class! The wealthy enjoy showing off their wealth as this gives them status to others..so it is nothing to see them wearing on one hand a huge emerald..ruby and a diamond ring and six other rings on the same hand of equal value.. However.. the jewelry doesn't have stamps.. that is something that one would see in the US and other parts of the world. .In fact pure gold they consider stamps in jewelry to be cheap.. This isn't the only region or country like this Egypt and other places are the same zero stamps in the jewelry.. Therefore.. on one of your finds ..if you locate jewelry without stamps this could prove to be a good find rather than a valueless item...Good Luck.. in your future hunts...nice video!

    lake of the sky appears to be a virgin area. I would expect areas near the dam to be good or any phased out beaches or marinas. The washoe tribe was there and fished. should be points in shallower areas and along banks. Silver Comstock Mine. Old logs are worth $$$$$ and logging was big during mine operation and the lake was used for all transportation. Old railway depot at tahoe tavern area. There were railroad tracks that surrounded the lake and tourists were dropped off at a multitude of stops. There was a myth that because of the altitude, you coudn't float in the lake. In 1950 that was dispelled. you can adjust where you look based on that.

    If you had to, could you say ‘this season, I collected $XXXXXX.00 in coins, XXX TOYS, XX cell phones, etc.,’ just a season ‘wrap up’? I appreciate your vids because you’re NOT explaining the obvious! I’ve been ‘treasure hunting’ for close to 10 years, in OH, TX, TN and FL, I’ve never felt the need to make a video and telling viewers...’and, here I am, running my metal detector, left to right, in a almost circular loop, hoping I will, blah blah blah blah’...Everything I recovered, i returned to the owner IF applicable. I’ve sold so many GoPros I may need to get a vending license! I have cell phones covering one wall in my man cave. Jewelry, sold. Oldest class ring, 1932, Patterson, NJ. Took three months but found great-granddaughter who actually had a picture of the ring! The family invited me to a family reunion, three years ago. Made me cry like a little girl when, the youngest brother, remembered his sister getting her class ring and how devastated she was when she lost it. He said ‘the last time I saw this was the summer of 1934’. So, I made it my ‘mission’ to return every piece to its owners. Now, trash!?! I hate trash, and, if I can find a piece of trash that has a name on an envelope or bill or whatever, I turn that in. Tires!?! Don’t get me started on tires! I removed 13 in one day, I don’t want to pay the $5 to have it recycled, but, it’s not in the water with 500 fishing hooks stuck in it. With 2lbs of sinkers and a dead duck wrapped up in fishing line. Fishing lures. People will pay a lot of money for GOOD lures! I’ve done good with platinum, gold, silver, old coins, it paid for my ‘hobby’, so, I’m fortunate. So, anyway, I’m looking for something shiny at this abandoned house in Wood County, OH.
