I just stumbled onto one for $150. I knew exactly what it was and snagged it immediately. Amazing find! Since the word got out on Carvins, I believe Godin/Seagull is the last “best kept secret” for some of their older and lesser known models! Great video. We look for a lot of the same features!

I have 3 SD24s. 2 are 2001 and the other is a 99'. I also have an SD22 which is an 02'. The SD22's are much lighter and don't sound as good. I did have the SD22 modified by Sacha Dunable. He stained the whole thing black, cut a custom black pick guard out with one cavity for the humbucker (Dunable Direwolf). No tone knob/No Pickup Selector and relocated the volume knob to the tone knob position. Pretty good sounding guitar however, I like the SD24's much more. One of the 01's I also had modified in a similar way. No single coils no tone knob no pickup selector and this one has a BareKnuckle Nailbomb (I think). The pick guard on this one is a faux tortoise shell. The other two I have 01' and 99' are all original except the 01' I pulled out the humbucker and dropped in an SH4-JB. This one is my main squeeze. Love these guitars! My other squeeze is a 1979 Silverburst.

Nicely done. I purchased one way back in the day, and it is the only guitar I use, still stock. I don't use the arm at all in my playing, so it still sits in the gig bag in the original plastic bag it came in. LOL.

Grab them if you find them! They’re still priced very fairly. The 24 fret versions are great as well.

That's a pretty guitar. I don't think I've seen an SD with a flamed maple top before. You make it sound good, too!

Man I love that country sound you got there! I have an SD myself but weirdly enough the tremolo bar doesn't lock like yours, it stays loose. But I also don't get that weird detuning when I bend other strings.

I have one that has a normal bridge and I love it! That Gibson scale length makes it really comfortable to play. This is towards the bottom of the line for Godin, but everything they make is a cut above. Even their "cheap" guitars are quality. This blows away any Strat in the same price range. The compact body makes it appealing when it comes to practicing for long periods. I've never seen another one in person. Yet. Mine is sort of a tobacco sunburst with a beige pickguard and rosewood neck. Enjoyed the vid!

I just picked one up on Reverb and enjoyed your video. The note about locking then trem is super helpful since I like to play the blues/country licks like that. Thanks!

@@RajorshiBhattacharyya thanks! I found one on Reverb that has the onboard tuner and the tuner was non functioning so it was sold as "fair". The tuner is not essential imo so I will try to fix it but if that fails I will probably delete the tuner and use the push/pull pot for a coil splitter on the bucker. Its also in black so I might refinish it, will decide once I actually get my hands on it. Yours with the maple top is very nice looking.

@@adamneal7591 that’s crazy, I didn’t even know those existed. Also Godin has been exploding in pricing recently.

@@RajorshiBhattacharyya yes it is nigh impossible to find a made in USA guitar for under a grand anymore. The tuner is a weird feature for sure but if it caused the price to be lower I'm fine with that 😆 With everything I was out for under $300 so I call that a win. I am like you, I am a budget guitar hound. There are a lot of great instruments out there under a $1000, imo no need to spend more than that. My favorite brand is Michael Kelly, if you haven't encountered them look them up. They are owned by Sam Ash now and make some incredible rigs for the price.

Got my Goden SD Sunburst and dual 12inch Behringer amp for $250 back in 2010, will never sell it

I’m thinking of putting a Super Vee Blade Runner tremolo or maybe a Callaham trem block on mine. Those pot metal trem blocks are tone killers.

Did you replace the pickup yourself? Any tips or pics? I have this guitar and like you only complaint is the distortion sound.
