I am a new teacher and i was just informed that i will be teaching the yearbook class this year. i have never been in a yearbook class so this video was super helpful in giving me things to think about.

my school hasn’t had a yearbook in a long time but this year the school decided to have one again and my head of year chose me to basically be the head of the committee because i was so interested in it but i really had no clue where to start. this video was very helpful, thank you!!

So I have to work hard) but since it's my first year doing yearbook, I'd love if you could completely go through each page of your yearbooks. I love your creativity and Id really appreciate more ideas (my highschool is small with only around 300 students so I have to get really creative😬)
Hi, I can see why that might be confusing lol. Basically, you don't want the theme to be outdated by picking something cool right now however the content inside such as articles or pictures about things that are "in" is suggested. For example, I would not do a Tik Tok themed yearbook, but I would include a list of most viral Tik Tok's of 2020. Hope that helps! :)
This was an awesome video! I was on the yearbook staff in my years of high school, and I'm a huge yearbook nerd. Your tips were all very great! There's a big difference between a beautiful, well-made yearbook that's fun to read through and has longevity versus a boring book of random pictures. I love a good yearbook! Oh yeah and @4:23, one of my middle school yearbooks had the same exact theme, only it was called "Leaving Our Mark" and had a hand print lol its so cliché
Hi there! That is definitely a theme that has been done before, I recommend you study modern comic book design and try to make it edgy as opposed to tacky.
In our school, each tutor is allowed to create their yearbook page, each tutor class of each grade has 2 pages, one page is professionally made with our picture day phtoos and our class photo, then the pother page if for our tutor to create, this year my tutor asked me to create something for our page, I asked help from my friend but we don´t have an idea of what to do. Last year I did Baby photos of everyone, this year I want to do something different. Could anyone give me ideas?

Hi Zoe!! When I was in High School over 6 years ago, we used Jostens to design and print the yearbook. For a more affordable option you can try a design program called Canva. I don't keep up with the yearbook industry so that's all the help I can offer you.
Hi Maya! The best thing is to include topics students are interested in now and what will be cool to look back on in the future. If you're having a hard time You can make a survey or simply ask different classmates.

Never to late to join if you can. Learned lots of design skills that helped my career. Not only is it fun but it exposes you to may different skill sets. Go for it!
