such a survivor car, love the old Italian cars but they sadly do fall apart. It is nice to see someone put the effort in to try to save one. Please give it some love and make it look fresh.
Keep it standard, with just bumpers off, one colour, may be white. Don't do green on an Italian car. May be white with italian flag green coach line. Keep the wheels steal. Trip black with black interior.
Great Plan for this car, really beautiful body and making it bit streamlined will only enhance it's beauty, Deep Green/Golden combo will be fabulous, i would suggest BBS RS rims with gold insides, i am definitely following this project.
I had one in black with red leather interior. Special little car. I like your green with caramel interior and gold engine livery concept. This design comes alive without the bumpers.
I'll add my congratulations to your impressive ability to work through problems and articulate their outcomes to your viewer; I've owned 2 of these - a '74 Coupe 1800 in Midnight Blue with Gold velour trim, and a '78 HPE 2000 in Polar White on a contrasting Pale Green interior. Both gave exceptional driving pleasure combined with reassuring safety features. No rust issues with the earlier model although the estate was beginning to discolor around the front struts and wheel wells by '85; we can be thankful for salt-free road surfaces in Australia!
You only need to etch prime then raptor the floor. undeneath. Raptor can be tinted easily to make the underside body colour. I have worked on dozens of rotten cars for over 50 years which had bituminous underseal sprayed underneath and it was the bitumen which caused the rust.
Italian cars. As a former owner I'm now fully cured of ever owning one ever again. Love the way you stated that stuff fell of the car and had to go back and collect them. Sure, it was just the tripod, but the ease and casual nature of how you said it takes me back to owning an Alfa. Brilliant channel by the way.
IDE personally like to see you do the welding, if your re really going for it, get it blasted! No more rust! Like your ideas on the colour outside and inside.... I do have a but though.... Your interior is so good!!! As in the seats do not look sat in.... Have you thought of silver exterior, keep the Orange seats and black leather the dash etc?¿? Only an Idea, if not get other seats to re upholster, sell the orange ones on to someone they are soooo period and ide image unobtainable!! Looking forward to seeing more of your channel, just found it ...
I would recommend reinforcing the rear transmission mounting area on the subframe. It's common for this area to crack. Great job so far! Looking forward to more on your Lancia.
Period motorsport inspired wheels in satin gold may just give a nod to some sporting pretentions and pick out the gold pinstripe against dark green paint. 😎
Colours never an easy choice. I've 2 '75 1800 coupes in BRIGHT Maya Yellow with the Red & the Green velvet seats respectively (both need retiming) so personally I like the '70's gaudy but stylish colour contrasting interiors Lancia used on the early examples, especially with soft cloths to show off their comfortable seats. So with a medium-dark green I'd consider the lighter green cloth, or more likely a golden yellow/ mustard velvet/velour seen on some Stratos,. [Which I must admit made me think of lurid fluro kermit green Stratos which would be a bit much , then bright metallic Green Beta MonteCarlo (brown seats)]. Perhaps check out the early brochure photos of metallic blue with Red seats.
Fantastic Lancia. She runs well . Worth saving . The earlier cars like this one, were particularly nice with the small wooden dash . Think the engine was grey from new , at least the same engine in Fiat models of the period , were that colour. People in Lancia world may know different. I’d keep her standard , personally.
A friend of mine in high school days bought a very rusty Lancia beta 4 dr hatch the only one I’ve ever seen in Nz literally held together with matching colour red duct tape but we had a lot of fun in it the motor was so strong and the best thing about that car . I like your little coupe it seems to be a survivor looking forward to it’s revival
My stepfather had a silver Lancia Beata HPE with a lime green & chocolate interior (with the rap around back seats & rear windscreen venetian blind). If you're going for a forest green exterior, I'd keep keep the original orange seating. Looks fab, keeps it original & you'll save a few bob - which you'll need for those Austin's!
Enjoying your videos. Minor comment, if you’re going to do pieces to camera, please look at the camera lens! (Personally I’m not bothered if you do pieces to camera or just voiceover)
Good work sir. Keep on treating it with respect, its a wonderful car. In terms of the interior and specifically the sheets, i would suggest a two tone/ two fabric application. My family owned a Lancia Beta 1400 Berlina and the sheets used to be dark green around the heaps, the shoulders and on the back with a leather like fabric, while in the middle was light green with an alcantara like fabric. Keep up and good luck.
Here in Virginia I remember being offered an N reg back in Surrey in 1979 for five hundred quid. The rot had set in and although I have always loved the design I knew it would be nothing but trouble. It was a toss up between that and a 63 Ford Consul Capri and I think you know which direction I went. Well presented channel mate, good luck.
Thank you! I’m glad you like the format. They are beautiful, but indeed riddled with little problems. I’d like to rebuild this one better. As it is great fun to drive and looks great
What a fantastic feeling to get it going and so nicely! You’ve got a great channel starting up here so please do keep the content coming. Really interesting projects and you have a really nice gentle presentation style. Keep up the great work!!! 🎉
Very fond of the Beta having owned a number of them. Really enjoyed the first two episodes, you come across very well. If your looking at a green the period colour albeit for a series 2 Beta was Ascot green (dark), alternatively the Integrale Evo1 had a limited edition finished in Verde York green as a point of reference.
Having a variety helps me! When I get frustrated on one, I can move over to another until I calm down! Glad you’re enjoying the channel, lots more to come!
@@HudsonAutoFilms I’m thrilled you actually replied to me, you a great style and presence. Yea I guess the variety is a good idea. When I was in school I used to live the Lancia beta more Carlo , we had a lancia dealer in Cardiff I walked past longingly. Keep up the good work and have a good weekend. Best Paul
I would never use powder coating, it is a cheap way to make things look nice but once it gets chipped or cracked there is nothing you can do so it would rot like hell, a good quality paint would be better.
At first i thought the Rally livery would look amazing but as you said the power wouldn't be there and really the interior would have to be stripped and Bucket seats put in and it would be ruined! The Green exterior and Gold highlights and of course the wheels would have to be Gold to match is a fantastic colour combination 😊 For wheels Alphaholics have a GTA Veloce wheel which is light and would be perfect for this car. There is an Australian CZcamsr called Home Built by Jeff and he's retrofitted a Ferrari engine into a GTA and has truly built a masterpiece inside and out. Any Alfa Purists will need to stay away😅
The green/gold highlights and interior selection good choices. However, yuck to gold engine. Why would you want to replicate BMC/ British Leyland? Harry Metcalf painted his Lancia Fulvia top end covers yellow and it looks awfully smart. Keep the videos coming.
You've got the basis of a good channel here now. A Lancia restoration, 2 Aston Martin's and 2.3K subscribers and growing. Well done and good luck!
Thank you! It’s exciting how quickly it had grown. Lots more videos to come!
Sounds like it will look stunning. I had one 30 years that was exactly like yours a 1.3 in whiteish. Really looking forward to seeing this

I’ll do my best! It seems that most cars from this era fall apart :/
@@HudsonAutoFilms I am sure you will and i belive it will be very cool when you finish it.

Ryan at Yorkshire Car Restorations could do a terrific job on the bodywork!
I’m sure he could!
I had one in black with red leather interior. Special little car. I like your green with caramel interior and gold engine livery concept. This design comes alive without the bumpers.
Sounds lovely. And yes I agree. Bumperless feels so much more classic and authentic to the design

I think a gold wheel like the ones on the first rally car tou showed would be nice. I had a set on an X19 I had back in the 80s.
Don't mind if you do the engine fluorescent pink as long as you do the other stuff and get this baby back on the road. Lovin' it.
Thank you! Fluorescent pink it is 😎

Interesting. Thanks for that information, I had no idea that the bitumen was the cause.
I’ll be taking your advice and etching and then raptoring!

deve tornare come e uscita di fabbrica è talmente bella che merita rispetto!!!
It is beautiful! It will be returned to its former glory!
Stick with the rally vibe bin the asthmatic 1300 and plant a inter garali running gear 😅
That would be very cool! We’ll see
Me again.
I get the green gold.
But I would keep the series 1 honeycomb grill and the original alloys.
I’ll definitely keep the S1 grille. I do like the wheels, but they aren’t correct for the car. So I’ll try and hunt down original specs though
I would recommend reinforcing the rear transmission mounting area on the subframe. It's common for this area to crack. Great job so far! Looking forward to more on your Lancia.
Great work will look forward to seeing this beautiful beta finished
Me too. Will be an absolute pleasure when it’s done!

Great video, keep it up. My Father had a Beta saloon when new, fortunately sold on before the rust issues became apparent.
Thank you! They get bad wrap for rust, but most cars of that era rusted away!

I knew a dentist in kaitaia who had a mettalic blue one in pristine nick, but that was the late 70's.
Nice! Let’s get together for a Lancia video special😁
Hope you enjoyed!

That’s an interesting colour scheme. I do like the two tone idea. Lots of options, exciting times ahead!
Funny you are thinking green. I was considering an Olive Green for my Beta. Love how she is firing up now. Good stuff.
Thanks mate! Green is a great shade for them!
Great channel Beta great Lancia did 2 greens a dark green and a seventies light green 👍
Thanks for the info! I’ll definitely go darker!

A series 1 interior worth a fortune dont let that interior out of your site.
Absolutely! It’s mostly it’s original colour. A little bit of fading in areas. But generally good!
Keep going

Making her a Lancia Bet ter.....A Gentleman and a Scholar's Car indeed....The Green livery is good but not British racing green surely?
Not quite as bright as BRG, deeper! More of a gentleman’s colour
Hi bruv, excellent channel 👌 do you do private cars for customers, I have a 1968 Mercedes 280se, welding, restoration etc
Thank you! Yes I do - my email is in the description
I love it! 5 months on, has there been any progress?
A lot! I’ll post an update soon!
This car deserve a restauracion
It will get one!
id do the interior nice and leave the exterior. proper running
Tempting! Lots to think about. Got to get it welded up next!
Would be interesting to do a compression test on the engine.
I’ve done one off camera and all was good. But will do one in the next episode as well
I think some of the fiats share with the lancia
Yep, they share tonnes of parts as Fiat bought Lancia
Love this car, can’t wait to see what you do with it, but too much talking on this video, and not enough doing.
Noted!
Where are you based? Thanks
North Norfolk
Needs be rhd not lhd pity not to keep interior ? Refurb tho audi gt etc similar in ways
For my uses, lhd is better. Interior is lovely and will be kept. But in storage.
The green/gold highlights and interior selection good choices. However, yuck to gold engine. Why would you want to replicate BMC/ British Leyland? Harry Metcalf painted his Lancia Fulvia top end covers yellow and it looks awfully smart. Keep the videos coming.
The engine would have to be painted very sparingly. Perhaps it should be a matching green rocker cover with just the ‘lancia’ picked out in gold!
@@HudsonAutoFilmsThis. Not so sure about the pinstripe either. So good to see you bringing such an elegant little car back to life.
Please don’t rally it give it some TLC please
Lots of TLC incoming!
You talk too much

No-one is forcing you to stay tuned!
