A couple of quotes: “All that is needed for the sacrifice is an unshattered soul”- Ras before he sacrifices Kai.
“I will shatter the remaining goodness in my soul”- Cinder as shatterspin is activated in the final battle.
I think this means that each hit from the gong of shattering slightly weakens the goodness of a soul, but if a person is good enough they can resist the first few hits. It is implied that at least Kai had no negative effects from the gong of shattering
And considering he was the last one for Wyld to get the mask off him, none of their souls are shattered if Lord Ras's unshattered soul sacrificed line is anything to go off of.
You forgot to mention how Ras could still use Kai (an UNSHATERED soul) as a sacrifice. I imagine it could be that people can temporarily resist the shattering, and the ninja took them off in time.
I'm pretty sure Sora letting Arin think he's the one who saved Nya isn't a sign that her soul was starting to shatter. She just knew her best friend was going through a lot at the time and thought that he needed a win

Agreed. I mean we clearly know Arin had a really hard time being downgraded to fang 1 and he felt really insecure with his powers so her doing it really helped his self esteem and I do believe that that was her only purpose

My theory combines two theories, Jay's theory and Kai's theory. We saw previously that Jay possibly aligned himself with Cinder and Lord Ras to discover his origins before the fusion. Kai, on the other hand, is manipulated by the forbidden five to accept his dark power that was awakened by the gong, as in season 4 when he holds the scepter of the elements. When Kai accepts his inner dark power it causes an imbalance in space time which allows him to escape into the real world and align himself with Jay, Cinder and Lord Ras. When Nya finds out, she is shaken and can no longer fight because it would be against her brother and her boyfriend. Arin would have discovered that Sora had lied to him and this would have caused a conflict between the two friends. With all this imbalance, dragons would get involved to resolve the conflict, both matrix dragons, matriarch dragons and teacher dragons. The matrix dragons would fight through Lloyd. Cole discovers a way to destroy the gong of destruction because the ghost of Master Wu, in the first season part 2, calls him to the bowels of the earth revealing an artifact used by the first master of spinjitzu who was actually Egalt and Rontu's first student .
But if Kai would get out, what about Bonzle 😰. Also, its a great theory
I can imagine that when Sora eventually tells Arin about the incident, Arin would get angry and the two might get into a fight. But that's only if.
Why we assume the heroes getting into a fight, Jordana and Cinder have huge rivalry for Ras second.

My guess is that the wolf masks actually shattered Kai's soul and that's going to play a part in getting Kai out of Nether Space
Before Ras threw Kai in the portal he said "All i need as/for a sacrifice is an UNshattered soul", so no, i dont think there was any nagative effect.

I think Kai was resisting the Wolf mask, so he wasn't shattered right away. Cinder, on the other hand, didnt hesitate or resist

I have seen a lot of people criticize this scene and saying it’s bad writing and it contradicts what the show says but I have the opinion that no it doesn’t contradict what the show says because well Cinder just let the mask take over while Kai,Sora and Wyldfyre resisted the power of the wolf mask.
I think that the gong doesnt work on those who dont know how to perform shatterspin or who are fighting against its influence
I hope Jay actually gets to use shatterspin though, since he wont be trying to fight against it
It could just be if you embrace the negative energy it doesn’t hurt you but if you resist against it and fight it you might feel pain ? That’s how I see it anyway
They said that they needed an unshattered soul to finish the ritual and Kai got sent in and one of the forbidden 5 got out, so it’s safe to say that at least Kai wasn’t shattered

I think it would be interesting if the rest of the forbidden 5 try to manipulate kai by widening the cracks that the gong made sort of speak in Kai. That would be an interesting road, but idk if it's what's going to happen

I will say, I was a bit annoyed when that episode didn’t cover them turning evil or anything with the masks. At the end of ep 9 I literally said to myself, “Oh man, what would happen if the only person who can do rising dragon is shattered?!” But it will definitely be more than paid off if, later in the series, Sora, Wyldfyre and Kai start showing signs of evil. I didn’t even consider the fact that the mask might have skewed Sora’s judgement when she faked Arin’s object spinjitzu, but I can’t wait to see where they take it! Great video

As a anime/manga watcher/reader there are a lot of times where a power is introduced in this very dangeroues way only for it to eventually be revealed there are bigger limits to it than at first shown and stated so it's more there is a condition before getting the power something like the person who wears the wolf mask must be at least willing to accept the power to some extened for the persons soul to be shattered so the ninja not wanting the power woudn't have there souls be shattered while wolf mask soldiers being willing would have there souls shattered which raises the question how much do you have to be willing to have your soul shattered like let's say Jay is in a scenerio where he needs to save someone but needs more power and Lord Ras gives him a mask and only tells him that it will grant him the power he needs in the situation would that be enough of Jay being eilling to get the power and what kinda off effect would that be on Jay's normal personality after all Cinder and Wolf mask soldiers all agread to it fully aware but Jay only needed it for a moment would that make him more insane or craving it more than the rest

i don't think it is going to turn them fully evil but maybe the wolf masks effects will cause kai wildfyre and sora to become more aggressive in battle

Yo you should check it out but did you ever notice how similar Lloyd in the Source Dragon telepathy thing is similar to the Lake of Nine from God of War with the Realm Towers? It’s pretty much the same you should overlay them on each other and think on a theory
I definitely see Kai showing some once thought to be gone jealousy and rage like he had in season 4 only now directed to someone or something else. I HOPE that the writers had this scene in there to at least be talked about in Part 2 if anything comes of it.

It would be cool if this became sort of an Arkham Knight Joker thing where they now essentially have evil seeds planted in them that will try to take control, but the way it's set up doesn't seem like they're going to do anything with it which is a bit unfortunate (especially since I've thought that an evil Kai arc would work for a long time now despite him being the ninja that has spent the least amount of time being evil)
That could happen to Jay Lord ras gave him a mask than Saturn all the goodness from him because Jay is a little bit evil so it can make him more by the wolf mask

When Kai, Sora and Wyldfyre were disguised as the wolf warriors I was so nervous and scared that I thought they were going to turn evil because of the mask but I'm glad they were kinda fine after that. If something did happen to them from the masks later on that would not be good at all. I'm also worried about Arin cause he doesn't know that Sora actually helped him and that it wasn't all his doing. I just hope the masks didn't effect Kai, Sora and Wyldfyre but if it did that would be something to talk about and maybe they might explain something about how that kind of power felt like (in a not good way)

What would be cool in my opinion is if the ninja retrived the reversal blade and used it once more to reverse time and free kai from his emprisonment.
I’m sure it would take more than one hit on the gong to even affect them. If they were already shattered, Kai wouldn’t have been able to be a sacrifice, right?
The only thing that seems similar to this is a certain character in Crystalized that kept suppressing things…
I think because they fought it and didn’t embrace it, it would have different effects from someone like Cinder who embraced it from the start.
In the show it explained that it takes many uses of the masks to shater the goodness in someone so I don't think they will become evil and its probably did not effect them very much

If u guys look closely when cinder and the wolf mask worries react to the gong it changes them like the wolf warrior gsin claws and cinder literally absorbs the mask and his eys turn red kai and the others however were in pain which means it was trying to effect them but because kai and the others were resisting it the masks weren't absorbed into them like they do with cinder yes i do think mask planted seeds yo shatter the goodness but not actually shattering any since kai didn't absorb the mask and imbrace it but it could still play a part in the second half of the season who knows
i dont understand how nya would have been a sacrifice for 1 of the five when she didn’t even have a mask on at all during the events of the 1st part of the season, am i missing something or is it just a straight up plot hole because ras said “ all i need is an unshattered soul but to do that they need to be wearing a wolf mash while the gong of shattering is hit with the mallet

@@GiraffecutieWhen he realize, he stops using the mask because he just feels like it's not right. Of course he will fight against the ninja several times with a mask or without a mask. And on that progress, maybe the ninja is trying to make him remember who he is. In time, he will come back to ninja because it's the right thing to do.
