3. SJ Surya as Sudalai in Spyder (His first negative role which was surprising and thrilling to watch)
4. Trisha as Jessie in VTV (In this movie, she played a role where her character is charming & naive )
Madhavan in Minnalae Jiva in siva mansula Shakthi Peranbu movie Mammooty Thalapathy movie Superstar Rajinikanth 8 Thottakal movie MS Bhaskar & muthu Ranganayagi as actor Meena
Jayam Ravi as Ponniyin Selvan. When no one believed in him, Mani Ratnam believed in him and now we can't think of anyone in his place. Asin as Kalpana in Ghajini, her role became iconic after that. Ritika Singh in Irudhi Suttru who won National Award. MS Bhaskar in 8 Thottakkal which proved his versatility. Suriya as Rolex in Vikram. Meera Jasmine in Sandakozhi, she overshadowed everyone in the movie. Last but not the least Madhavan in Anbe Sivam. Having Kamal aside, we could see Madhavan performing and stealing scenes away from him.
Karthi in ParuthiVeeran - Even Karthi himself couldn’t have asked for a better debut to kick start his impeccable career. The first shot to introduce an actor of this caliber, that has impacted and changed the film industry for years to come. Truly remarkable.
Madhavan in Aayudha Ezhuthu - A well established actor with the quintessential charming personalit - is now transformed into a rugged and a local gangster with shenanigans. This changeover from his previous roles as a chocolate boy to this was simply astounding.
Ritika Singh in Irudhi Suttru - The way Sudha has shaped up the character was so demanding. Surely, the mileage of this character could only be reflected on screen with a powerful presence, and Ritika surely succeeded in that.
Suriya in Vaaranam Aayiram - oh man, where to begin, a journey of a youngster transpiring from different phases of this life, where we take a closer look at all this ups and downs in his life. It’s very easy for a film of this type to become stereotypical, but what GVM presented on screen was beyond magical that has and still inspiring thousands of youngsters to have a hunger for passion. Suriya surely did deliver a performance of a lifetime by playing the prominent role of this career.
Nithya Menon in Thiruchitramblam - time and time again Nithya Menon keeps proving her mettle as a wonderful performer. Her choice of scripts, roles, and ability to shape-shift into any character that resonates with us is truly astonishing. As much as we know that how much of a great actor Dhanush is, Shobana’s character surely stole our hearts to give us one of the most memorable performances in recent times.
Vishal in Avan Ivan (Brilliant Acting and Performance)
Wonderful commentary @raunaq .. "if your guru believes in you, even when you dont believe in yourself, impossible is nothing" for thillu mullu. Also, "breaking the template to adore hero's opponent and still root for hero" semma !!! Dialogue ezhutha polaam neenga.
Completely agree on Prasanna. But I would still rate his performance in Thiruttu Payale 2 as his best. Paathale erichal and bayam varum, 200 times more than Anjathe.

Arjun Das portrayed as Anbudoss shown to be ruthless, drug addict gangster. Kaithi was the first film everyone would have witnessed. Arjun Das’s bass baritone voice is bigger positive which addon value to the film Kaithi
4. Madhavan - Anbarasu - Anbe Sivam
Madhavan portrayed as Anbarasu is shown to be a Self-Centric and materialistic person. Madhavan’s acting and transformation when he meets Nallasivam could be connected by all
5. Pasupathi - Kothala Thevar - Virumaandi
Pasupathi portrayed as Kothala Thevar is a kind of person resorted to violence and intimidation creating ruckus and having manipulative behaviour. Pasupathi’s character was so strongly written that it added weightage to Virumaandi’s character
6. Mammootty - Devaraj - Thalapathi
Mammootty portrayed as Devaraj is a person who fights for the oppressed and downtrodden. Mammootty sir’s character was very well written by Sir Mani Ratnam, and Surya’s (Superstar) character would be incomplete without Deva
7. Jyothika - Ganga - Chandramukhi
Jyothika portrayed as Ganga is shown to be a person who has mental trauma. Jyo's acting was top notch and irreplaceable.
One scene is enough to describe - “Nethichutti Kasumala”
8. Kalaiyarasan - Anbu - Madras
Kalaiyarasan portrayed as Anbu is shown to be a person who stays true to his values and principles. Kalaiyarasan acted the role in convincing manner and which proved him to be good actor
9. Jeevan - Pandian - Kaakha Kaakha
Jeevan portrayed as Pandian is a violent, ruthless gangster. Jeevan’s role comes only at time of interval from there on till end he nailed each and every scene he appeared
10. Sathyaraj - Nagaraja Cholan - Amaidhi Padai
Sathyaraj portrayed as Nagaraj Cholan aka Amavasai is shown to be a cunning, corrupt politician. Sathyaraj sir’s villainism and satire was big positive and Nagaraja Cholan is one of the well written character
11. Nataraj - Gandhi Babu - Sadhuranga Vettai
Nataraj portrayed as Gandhi Babu is a character who launders money. Nataraj to play as Gandhi Babu was brilliant decision by the director and Natty was very well fit into the character
12. Vikram - Chithan - Pithamagan
Vikram portrayed as Chithan is shown to be a person with mental illness and has difficulty in communication. Vikram sir lived in that role and acted fully to his potential which made him won the national award for the character

Perfect Casting decisions in my opinion
1. Nithya Menon in Thiruchitrambalam- Was once again able to see the how great an actor Nithya Menon is, and the nuances with which she played the role made her the perfect fit
2. Sampath Raj in Aaranya Kaandam- His previous role of being a gangster/villain made him ease into the script and him turning into a protagonist over the course of the movie felt fresh.
3. Mammotty in Peranbu - Felt good to see a star like Mammotty featuring in a film like Peranbu. His performance in this movie once again proved why he is one of the best actors in the country
4.Arjun Das in Kaithi- What to say ,his physique,mannerism and most important his loud bass voice made him the perfect choice for anbu in kaithi
5. Natarajan in Sathuranga Vettai- He nailed the role of a common man with his subtle acting and nuances.
6.Jayapalan as Pettaikaran in Aadukalam: The way the character showcased his ego, pettiness and cunning nature was the soul of this film in my opinion.
7.Ritika Singh in Irudhi Suttru- The best way to debut, a role which required showing off great athletic abilities and boxing skills. Rithika Singh nailed her acting and she being a professional boxer made the boxing scenes realistic
8. Vikram in Pithamagan: He is one of the few actors who goes to great lengths to ace a role. His acting was pitch perfect in this movie.
9.Pasupathy in Virumandi: This character is what made this movie one of the best movie. From making us believe he was innocent to understanding the manipulative/evil nature of this character. Pasupathy gave justice to this character.

Shobha in Mullum Malarum. A realistic blend of innocence, good heart and teen curiosity.
Sridevi in Johnny. Very mild character, one who lives in music and in silence other way. Mostly in whites. A character like a mute breeze, like a mild melody, and like Byron's She Walks in Beauty. Sridevi comes in with grace and elegance, without the usual glamour she usually does and it works beautifully.
1. Natty as Gandhibabu in Sathuranga vettai (First time as a main role on screen yet stood in our hearts as inerasable character. Even now if someone approaches us with some schemes or plans, we use to ask "ennada sathuranga vettai natty maari ah" nu. That level of impact!!!)
2. Ajmal as Vasanthan in KO (Portraying a charming actor in devilish Villan role. Added an extra value for the suspense revealed in pre-climax.)
3. Surya as Nandha in Nandha (Surya's transformation from Chocolate boy to Rugged boy. This role gave a strong basement for all his action/rugged characters which he played thereafter.)
4. V.I.S. Jayapalan as Pettaikaaran in Aadukalam (That role still has a very important place in Tamil cinema history. He lived that role, no wonder he won national award for that role.)
5. Pasupathi as Murugesan in Veyil (Gateway for this transformation from hatered Villan roles to lovable character roles. That tea kadai scene where he introduces himself as “annan da” to his brother bharath is enough to make you cry nomatter howmany times you watch)

Fahadh Faasil as Amar in Vikram is an underrated character.He literally carried the show
1. Manikandan and Lijomol jose Jai bhim - These artists have lived the character; their heart wrenching performance tugs our heart and makes us forget that this is a movie and we’re deeply involved in their world.
2. Jyotika in Chandramukhi - Every time I think about Jyotika’s career the most iconic movie is Chandramukhi. I had seen only a couple of movies of Jyo’ s before watching Chandramukhi in theatres, man that movie changed the way I saw Jyo after that. And I re-visited all her previous movies, but nothing stood out like Chandramukhi.
3. Avan Ivan Vishal and Arya - Arya and Vishal were destined to play their roles in Avan Ivan. I mean they were not the initial choice but somehow, they landed these roles. I can’t imagine any one else pulling of this imperfectly perfect brother duo energy.
4.Meena in Shock - I haven’t completely watched this movie yet and I’m 22 years old. I really don’t have the balls. The only few scenes that I watched has haunted me through out childhood. The way she switches expressions is terrifying.
5. Trisha and Prakash Raj in Abhiyum Naanum - Saw this movie when I was 12-13, Abhi was an inspiration. She knew what she wanted and was focused on her life and career. Prakash Raj ate the role and left no crumbs. My dad is PR in real life. When we watch the movie together now we resonate with those characters.
6. Suriya in Pithamagan and Soorarai Potru - Surya has proved his acting abilities in various movies, but Pithamagan is my favorite. Suriya along with Bala’s direction nailed that role.
And Suriya in SP as Maara, what can I say everytime I face any difficulties in life Maara’s story just lifts my spirits up and makes me push myself and fight till I win.
7. Maiyandi thatha in Kadaisi vivasayee - I thought he was a wonderful actor until I knew he wasn’t an actor and was a farmer in real life. He portrayed the emotions on point.
8. Kathir in Pariyerum Perumal - Kathir is a good actor and when given meaty roles his performance outshines everything.
Kathir in PP>>>Dhanush in Karnan.
9. Karthi in Paruthiveeran, Madras - Karthi had given an extraordinary performance for a newcomer, he didn’t hesitate to do certain scenes and gave his all to the role; Priyamani was equally good, Muthazhagu will be hard to forget.
Special mention to Madras: Karthi in Madras broke a lot of stereotypes and Karthi in that role elevated the character. Props to Ranjith.
10. Vadivel in Winner - Kaipulla is a cult character, and no one other than Vadivel could have enhanced the role. Kaipulla carried the entire movie along with Prashant and this role changed Vadivel’s career.
11. Natraj in Sathuranga Vettai and Karnan - In SV, Natty played it perfectly as the conman and in Karnan he out-performed everyone and made everyone hate him.

Saranya Ponvannan for Thenmarku paruva katru (in seenu ramasamy movies always there is a weightage for women charector but this movie one step ahead he nailed with this charector and won national award too)
Kalabhavan Mani for gemini (I don't think or imagine any other artists not do that charector he do humour as well a villanism he as Teja he only can do that)
MS Basker for 8Thottakkal (i don't know how the director cast him in a filim and give him a powerfull role he just live with the charector and he show a falid dad for his childern and police officer that particular canteen scene is enough how he lived the charector)
In my personal opinion Vijay for Gilli (A remake filim is better then orginal filim is a rere but this filim one of them and we see only velu not a actor Vijay)
