    Only buy Mikuni genuine kits for these style carbs. Yamaha using them on all 1200 powervalve and all 800 engines. Seadoo uses the I-body carbs on the 787/800 and 947/951s. They are even bigger than the Yamahas.
    The part you didn’t do and must do to rebuild the carbs is remove the fuel screws. The 1200s have brass plugs covering them from the factory. The 800s don’t. If the plugs are still in which is rare bc of the age and use of ethanol fuel nowadays you are in luck bc the screws will come out easily. If not hopefully the person who rebuilt them last put grease in the holes after the screws were removed, cleaned n reinstalled. The 800s are seized a lot bc corrosion gets into the threads. Must use heat and lube and a prayer to remove them. If they don’t come out, we’ll your looking for a new used carb. Don’t ever buy a brand new carb n mix it it with used.
    Yamaha is a money whore and raise the price of the brand new carbs about $300-400 over cost for msrp. Plus the won’t release the right for Mikuni who is the maker of the carb to resell the carbs under just Mikuni. Reason why? They don’t want those machines back on the water. They want you to buy 4strokes. Seadoo released there rights to the carbs and now you can buy the exact carbs in sets already to bolt on and at an affordable price.

    Well you make that look easy :-)
    Can you give some info on the kits you used for the rebuild and also the choke delete?
    I need to do this same thing myself!

    You bought the cheap kits that are pretty much garbage. Removing the choke doesnt allow you to shut off the engine anymore if you get a runaway idle. They are hard to start when your popoff pressure is set wrong. The choke is there for a reason. Good luck.

      The skie ran perfect after that and the new choke system worked perfect and better that the oem. The skie started quicker. Thanks for the advice.

    If that kit costs $20 it will never run right you can't put cheap kits in these carburetors and expect them to run

    • @PIBRACINGCHANNEL
      @PIBRACINGCHANNEL  Před rokem

      They ran really good believe it or not. The problem with the ski was that the block was crank and it wasn’t creating the pulse for the carbs to pulp fuel.

      We fixed and it ran perfect.
