    It seems like a good idea, the idea of 'losing lives' across the ride is actually kind of cool. Could have definitely done a sort of Indiana Jones meets Jungle Cruise with the idea. It's really lacking when it comes to immersive themeing, however, with the open celings (making us look up at the spiders was hilarious because you could see the celing), lack of moving pieces/animatronics, and poor ride vehicles (not even real wheels nor an actual steering wheel). So just another ride that would make us say 'What If..'

    • @njdotson
      @njdotson Před rokem +12

      I think it would be a perfect ride once the open spaces are either filled in or hidden. A lot of that can be fixed through being strict with lighting. The bright lights used also make the projections lack contrast in some areas

    • @ItsGibsy
      @ItsGibsy Před rokem +12

      I'm wondering if it's really a lack of theming, or if it's just because of the cameras larger aperture, that it can see more than we would in the situation. I'm assuming that they have a decent enough camera for low lighting, which could've made it where the camera was seeing more than the people riding would actually see. Breaks immersion for us watching, but not for the people riding.

    This is pretty amazing for a non-Disney or Universal park ride. Considering this is way more immersive and creative than some attractions I've seen outside those parks where you can see the walls / ceilings. This ride may have those issues too, but unlike others, they seem to really excel in other areas and a lot of the reasoning for it being noticed is simply due to the flashing lights that go along with the thunder and the camera angles. However, another thing to think about is most people who do high quality videos on CZcams in a lot of cases can pick up on a lot of detail you wouldn't see in person due to them using high quality camera, or for example, "low lightning" videos (which this channel has released a few) specifically are created to show more detail on dark ride attractions. So while I think it could have been seen in person I think it was more obvious on camera due to the lighting, high quality camera, and angles that were used.

      Ive seen this in person, it’s underwhelming, and the ceiling is very visible throughout the ride. And while it’s not Disney or Universal, it’s Merlin entertainments property and Gardaland has enough money to own multiple B&M coasters. They could’ve done better in my opinion! They definitely had the funds and experience.

    • @Rachel-xu4br
      @Rachel-xu4br Před 8 měsíci

      @@NeonCats This is better than The Cat and the Hat ride and that's current at Universal Studios (in their defense though it's an old ride). There's no denying that it isn't perfect and I still stand by what I said. And let's be honest, everyone can do better. Some choose to try, some just choose not to. Considering Disney refuses to fix "The Yeti" and everything else under the sun and I'm pretty sure they're more loaded compared to Merlin Entertainment. At the end of the day, you're going to get only what you're willing to pay for. Maybe the budget got cut back suddenly? Maybe they had to scrap a lot of ideas? I mean, they clearly couldn't afford to have the whole cast involved in the ride. I know the whole point is you're the player, but usually they try to use the images of other characters somehow in the narrative usually in an attraction (even if its just for the preshow).

    For all the comments: I rode it multiple times, Gardaland is my “home park” (~2 Hours drive) and I have to say that is a good ride, when it works properly. Sometimes something is not working, audio and video rarely aren’t in synchro and other minor things. But overall os very good for it’s budget range! You can feel giant’s hot breath when passing in front of the moving head, in the loading station you can smell cinnamon flavour, the big hand tries to catch you, the snake sprays venom when passing by, and when there’s the falling scene you can feeling like you’re falling. Overall I would go for a 7 out of 10.

      It is just a medium theme park with 39€ entrance ticket! for people just looking for fun and not to pay more than 125$ for one day in the overpriced and crowded Disney parks. Of course can't be the same.

      @@JordiLA those prices are only on the American parks. The Disney parks international are expensive but still affordable and better value. I would rather spend a little bit more but experience better quality rides.

    Well, that's a thing. A lot of cost cutting and lack of creativity when it comes to the overuse of screens that don't even blend into the surroundings. The drop simulator aspect was a great addition, but the abrupt spin transition takes you out of the experience. If it wasn't for the giant prop, the whole thing just feels like one of the many Halloween walkthroughs Universal does, though they are a bit more interesting due to the condensed spaces used and the large amount of prop usage with the jump scare actors. This just feels like an empty warehouse (you can even see the freakin' roof of it in the spider scene) with a bunch of walls and screens to stare at with the occasional statue or interesting prop (like the giant), but you see the lack of funds put into the experience and understand why. The hippo is just a floating head! Really Universal? You couldn't make it seem like it is in a pool of green water?

    Imagine a ride based on the first film that goes through the rolls and you move throughout the destruction of the town and the house, survive the flood and the crocodile attacks your vehicle, would be awesome 😂

    Honestly its moving in a really good direction. Just fill in the empty spaces, dim the lighting and walls then cover the ceiling up not even fully if they just fix the lighting.

    I have to say just my two cents but they could do jumanji like how the pirates of the Caribbean ride with a boat type of flume ride maybe going thru the house from the original movie and have alligators in there following you at certain points of the ride and have the hunter in there two at certain points as well and maybe have a scene where the kids are rolling the dice for the game or something I dont know but I think that would be cooler than this.

    Really cool concept and most of the effects are really good! However that hippo out of water barely moving with just a puddle showing it’s animatronic bearings was a bit cringey as well as the unmoving cobra and effects that do there thing turn off and then after the turn off the car moves on. However still a really great concept and overall looks like something still enjoyable to ride. Would be cool if they have an alternate version Jumanji rollercoaster or raft ride for sure!

      the hippo used to be a proper animatronic that moved quite a lot, unfortunately the animatronic broke and it was temporary replaced with this statue, take a look at a POV from last year to see the ride at its fullest

    Wow this is the poorest mans Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom ride I've ever seen. It could have potential if they hid the rooms more, themed the ceiling, toned down the lighting in some parts and it didnt sound like Roger Rabbits Car Toon Spin. It's not terrible but it isn't the best. I'm glad they saved the Shankara Stone though.
